So I finally got my hands on this this beast earlier today after picking it up via quick-ship last Sunday. And it is GLORIOUS. I've toyed around with it empty while the battery is charging to get some first impressions.

First of all, this bad boy has some girth to it, but not like the Malice from Ultrasabers. There's a lot of mean packed into this frame. Despite initial handling, it doesn't feel bulky, and maybe feels about twice the weight of a Gladius. It clocks in at about 16" from pommel to the tip of the blades, and about 4 3/4" wide across the blades, and about 5/16" thick. Comparison shot below to my Gladius, Dark Lord Relic, and Saberz Sentris.

The wrapped section of the hilt is just big enough for one hand...

But what surprised me was that the control box doesn't feel like it would get in the way much, in large part because the box itself is nicely chamfered on top and the sides and been radiused ever so slightly to take away any sharp edge. In fast, the only sharp point I've noticed on this hilt thus far is the base of the fan blades, below the second screws holding them in (each fan blade has two screws to keep them tight).

I'd really excited to get the battery charged so I can finally see for myself the difference between 6w and 12w in red, since I have a staff that I put a couple 6w red modules into myself. That first picture was on a partial battery charge in an afternoon daylit room.

I will proudly declare my allegiance to Darth Malgus with this saber. FOR THE EMPIRE!

Edit: adding a couple more pictures to the first post.

The blades are dull, a bit under 1/16" wide at the edges.

My first thought is that is isn't going to be a spinner-friendly saber, largely in part because of the control box and blades forcing your hand into one spot all the time. I always wear gloves when doing saber work, so the sharp edge on the bottom of the fan blade doesn't bother me, but bare hands will notice it. Checking the balance with a 36" blade in, the balance point is about 3" up the blade past the emitter, so it's still tip heavy.

It does, however, make a badass belt hanger.

That's damn cool. My friend just pre-ordered the juggernaut and it's good to see the hilt with the weathered finish. Staff? hmm. . . yes.
Sabers I own:

I was expecting your review Hake! This is an awesome hilt! Thank you, thank you very much for the review and the pictures!

Seeing the saber on a metal table is a thing... Seeing it in someone's hands is something else! That gives us a good idea about the dimensions. And the weathering... God this saber is gorgeous! You're one lucky man that's for sure haha!

It's a noticeable difference in weight over my other sabers on its own, but not like slinging around a club. I'll have to bring it to work tomorrow and get it on the scales at my office to get a more precise idea of actual weight. With a full 36" thick walled blade though, it takes a good bit more muscle to get it moving single-handed (admittedly, I've been slacking on weight training, haven't been to the gym in six months). The actual wrapped section length makes me feel like this is a hand-and-a-half length for anyone with larger hands.

Besides the Reborn this is the other saber I want from the 5 released in February. Seems like a no-nonsense saber for a bad motherlover. Hope its still around when my funds come available!

I guess you could say their is one combat advantage to the JUGGERNAUT if you lightsaber power cell is dead you could always decapitate someone withe hilt or use it a throwing weapon. :P

Although now that i think about it i would hate to be the first person to bring this hilt fully assembled in my carry on through airport security on the way to a convention. I could just see the conversation. " Excuse me sir is their an axe in your bag! No! Are you trying to smuggle a weapon aboard a plane!! " As you go reach your lightsaber to show them and explain that it is jut a prop for you costume you get jump from behind by airport security. :S

Yeah most of the ones I want (venom, viper, juggernaut) would get the cops called on me if I wore them in public. :P
