I got my champion tier Bastion in black finish with a purple led and I love it!! I noticed my retention screw for the blade it at the top of the saber and wondered if this was normal. I have seen other Bastions with the screw closer to where it is on my Consular. Also please ignore my dirty table, we replaced a steering wheel pump on the car and it got a little messy. I was also happy to get the older style of kill key!!

You're right. My Bastion has the blade retention screw just below the bottom window. I kind of wish they had put it where yours is because mine has a slight blade wobble. Not terrible, but still noticeable. I also like the old style apprentice blade plug you got. Mine came with the triangular Reactor plug from Lazerforge. You have an awesome looking hilt! Love the black finish.

Awesome looking saber! I've thought about ordering a black bastion too. This just confirms my decision lol.
As for the kill key, did you request the old style OR was it just a nice surprise?? |

it was a surprise to get the kill key. It came with the reactor blade plug and the one I have installed was my bonus. I love what I got and feel thankful; the blade does not wobble with the retention screw where it is so maybe that is an improvement. I would love to see more black bastions with different blade colors. I think I made a great choice. I wish I had been able to get my Consular in all black, I asked in the notes but I still got weathered on it. Maybe I will experiment with paint unless anybody has any other ideas or suggestions. |

Congrats on a great saber, that black/purple combo always works! You are a member of a select group now who have a black Original style kill key, I love the one on my Disciple. I mentioned in another thread (Link Here) about the position of the retention screw on certain sabers and I would definitely prefer the screw to be nearer the lip of the emitter if possible to avoid the screw crimping onto 1/4" of blade instead of getting a good safe grip on 1.5" of blade. I know, I speak from experience (Read about it here.) Anyhoo well done on a nice saber and maybe we could ask you to post a few more pictures for your review? Thanks I fell in love with this saber last year when it came out. I missed ordering one by about 2 weeks. This year when I discovered it came in all black I knew I had to get one.
