Hello everyone,

Here is my (beginner) review on the Prodigal Son that I just received today. Before I begin, I must say that getting this saber was truly a test of patience, perseverance, and character. Not only the wait time, but also when I must deal with the way the custom & post office in my country handle incoming package from abroad. At last, it's all over...and I can finally enjoy my first ever SF purchase :woohoo:

Before I explain how awesome this saber is, let me get some cons out of the way, including on the whole package that I ordered:

Cons:
1. The speaker and LED rattled inside this hilt. Thankfully, with some MacGyver-like creativity and a little bit of seal tape, these problems are rectified
2. They gave me the Imperial stand instead of the Phoenix stand that I ordered. After a while, however, I started thinking that I actually like it, especially in terms of functionality!

Only 2 cons for me! And here are the pros which make this saber and SF awesome...

Pros:
1. Masterclass saber crafting...It feels right...It weighs right...Once I held it in my hands, I immediately got the feeling 'This is the saber that I am looking for!'
2. 12+W green LED is super bright!
3. I personally don't feel any problem of "over-sliding" on the card on top of the activation box. It stays where it is all the time, even when I put the saber upside down. It only moves when I move it, just like the way it's supposed to be.
4. Last but not least, they gave me a bonus of belt clip! Thanks a lot, SF!

Now...It's time for some pictures!

All in all, I am TOTALLY HAPPY with my purchase and I would recommend SF to any fellow Star Wars fans out there!

Thank you SF for the great quality product (I hope you can fix the rattling part on your next batch of production, though!) and patient customer service (I know, I asked a lot of questions)...

Thank you everyone at SF Forum who have been great companions in the more-than-4-month waiting period...

Take care and may the Forge be with you all, always!

Good review. There have been so many PSs coming in over the last 2 weeks. Glad you like it and that you found a solution with the rattling. A nice little bonus of getting the belt clip is always welcomed. Hope you get to enjoy it.

You can never go wrong with a classic design :) Regarding the stand, it seems as though these new Imperial stands are the only ones SF ships now. I always preferred the triangular design (though I wouldn't mind one with the Phoenix emblem), so it didn't unduly bother me. They might be precursors to the stands they'll be selling through LazerForge.

You might be right, Borommkarot. My stand's shape is identical to the new saber stand previewed in the LazerForge thread. The differences are: (1)Mine doesn't have any of those small ornaments on the horizontal part; and (2)The vertical parts are not painted black.

LazerForge stand (prototype?):

There is a protective coating on some of the parts that, once removed should expose the black color beneath. If that is not the case, my apologies.

Also, the decorative elements are actually blade plugs. This thing is literally a place to store extra blade plugs! I don't have that many extras, but if I get a stand like that, I will be getting more blade plugs to fill it up, cause it looks awesome all filled up! B)

It looks like it stores extra kill keys to. Doesn't it look like the new saberforge logo kill keys? One above each set of blade plugs?

Yeah, it holds kill keys and blade plugs. Nifty, if you've got a lot you need to keep track of.

Ahhh...Thanks, Brax, Gorobulus, and Borommakot! I did not notice that function before! It surely gives more value to this stand...
