So I just got my Warrior level Acolytes (12W) and I just realised something. I could take the sound boards out of my Ultimate FX sabers and put them in my two Acolytes. Do you think that it can run the 12W LED? Has anyone tried this before? It seems like a cheap way to do it.

Other option would be to use Nano Biscottes.

I haven't been able to find actual specs for the fx boards but the way everyone talks about them on other forums, it sounds like they don't put out very much. I'd say it's pretty unlikely that they would power a 12W. You can use NBs, though.

Thanks for your insight miraluka! It's funny, I thought that the hasbro board would be able to handle a single 12W LEDA since the actual fx saber has a bunch of string LEDs.

I'll have to have a convo with Darth Mario, I know he's used some hasbro boards in builds before.

Post what you find out. I may try that if it can work

There's no way in hell an Ultimate FX board can power a 12w. Those things are pretty much the worst soundboards around. I took apart a Luke RotJ Ultimate FX saber once thinking I could use the soundboard for something…I ended up throwing it away because it was useless, lol.

But Miraluka is right, the NBv2 can power a 12w, which is something I learned relatively recently :)

Yeah, NBv2s don't regulate current and have something like 5-6 volt limit I think, so you'd be fine if you use a single 18650 like saberforge sabers do.

Alright, I was hoping I could go the cheap man's way, but I guess I'll have to stick to the original plan (biscotte). Does anyone have a good guide for adding the biscotte?

I can't give the direct link from my phone but go to YouTube and watch "building a basic saber with sound" PART 1 and PART 2

Rob from GCS installs an NB into a MHS hilt.

Another question would be if there even is room in the Acolyte. I know the Nano is tiny, but there isn't much or any room in the Acolyte.

SaberForge uses the SaberCore soundboard for champion sabers, the Spark Color soundboard for hero sabers. Both are larger than the NBv2 as far as I am aware, so it's definitely possible to install the NBv2 in there.
