TOPIC: Color Index

Someone requested I move some of my saber info into an easier to single out thread so I'm posting it here. I don't own all of the colors available by saberforge but at least I can show you the ones I do have.

I have them listed from darkest (most visible) to lightest.

Purple looks Bluish at the base, These colors were edited so they were closer to what they actually look like since cameras don't really capture their colors well.

These were all taken on my champion edition Epoch indoors with the lights on.

Thanks man! I know there have been folks looking for photo-realisitic representations of LED colors. Someone with access to the same level of photo processing, and the yellow, and amber LED could just about complete the list.

Wow, those are some beautiful colors. I really like the consistency of the pictures aswell.

I'd almost consider the reflection on the table a more true representation of the blade to the eye as in person it doesn't have the white core throughout the length of it.

Also, I think the Red and Royal Blue may appear darkest due to the fact that they're all 4 Red or 4 Royal led's where the others are mixed colours? Red and Blue also reach a higher "temperature" to achieve their colour which also could cause them to appear darker.

You're right about them not having a white core. They're more like brighter representations of the reflected saber. The overall color is what I was trying to capture but the way cameras capture light it's practically impossible to get it exact. Also, yes. Red and Blue are using 4 dedicated dye so they appear the brightest/most vibrant.

This is a great thread. I've been looking for more pictures of the Cyan color in comparison to other greens and blues. Do you know what mixture of LED's makes up the Cyan color? Will SF swap certain LED's for other to make custom colors?

Of course, that's just SF Cyan. LuxeonStar makes cyan dice so you don't have to mix anything.

That green is cyan? I find that... somewhat... off.

Yeah it's heavy on the green side. It mixes with blue nicely, though. I don't even know what you'd call it... like an aqua color? idk

I've had two different Cyan sabers and neither were very green at all... that one there looks MUCH more mint green than it does cyan.

In person, which is your preference between the two?
Mint Green or Cyan?

Personally I'm a much bigger fan of blue than green. So, I'd take Cyan any day.... which is prolly reflected in the fact that cyan will also be my first 12W+ led. haha.

That being said, mint green is a truely beautiful color... it's a little more unique than cyan, so it really depends on what you're going for in the long run.

I'm trying to decide between cyan and Artic blue for my next one.

Also a tough choice. I love the Artic Blue, it's probably my second or third favorite. Indigo/purple, artic blue, cyan... or, I could say those three are all tied for first and the rest fall somewhere else. Haha.

What do you think would pair best with the deep blue? I'm just trying to plan out as much as my Kickstarter saber as possible

Deep blue next to cyan would wash it out pretty well, making it look far more green. I know this from experience... had a deep blue and cyan disciple staff. In staff form it looked amazing, but next to one another the cyan appeared more green than I would have liked. So in that situation, I would probably suggest going with either a light side of blue and cyan, maybe artic AND cyan... or mint green and deep blue.

So it sounds like an artic blue would work best with the deep blue.
