Seems to be no sense of order with the IGG production. I'm backer 950 and haven't heard a peep yet. I'm assuming they are assembling according to the parts that are available while putting the finishing touches on KS orders. Either way it is getting close.

You are correct. Kickstarter orders went out by tier, and IndieGoGo orders are going out by in stock parts.

IGG should be done in a week or two huh, and here I am sitting waiting for any word at all about my KS order.....

At this rate maybe I'll get a shipping notice in another 40 weeks...

I just hope that all the extra time means my package will be complete and correct.

Got a tracking number this evening! No word or emsil about being in a queue or anything, just a tracking number. Here is the email.

"Hello! I am reaching out to you today to let you know your ASP order is nearing completion, and will be shipping out very soon! Your USPS tracking number is ***redacted***"

Pretty stoked!

Maybe some parts are just much easier to make than others, I'm indiegogo backer 33 (i think), and I've heard nothing yet, someone posted earlier on that their kickstarter order was waiting on the relic pommel, which my order also uses, so maybe that's just taking longer to build up a viable stock of.
Just the basics

I think a lot of the parts ASP uses (especially the pommels) aren't any different than the ones used in the prebuilt sabers, they're probably pulling from the same stock.

And they've arrived!

No alignment shims and no Bane, but I did get the prints.

One of the switches I ordered somehow got swapped with a different one (still haven't done a full inventory of what arrived vs. what was ordered, so I'm not sure what I got instead), and I got a second Crimson sound board instead of one of the Veridium ones I asked for.

Also, when I requested "Silver" finish on several of my parts, I was expecting polished aluminum (like the polished surfaces of the "standard" finish). Instead, it seems to be silver anodized; It's a smidge lighter in color, and it's matte rather than shiny. I may see if I can get it stripped, polished, and clear-coated.

The Bane was supposed to be a reward for certain pledges? SF has really dropped the ball, considering they put the Bane back on the website. I've heard that they are trying to sellout of this product in order to release the new 2.0 version. This is a major plunder on their part IMO. Couldn't they have set aside enough hilts to meet the demands of the rewards prior to taking new orders, and releasing product that was already slated and paid for by ASP backers?

I think this was touched one earlier before, but I'm pretty sure the "silver" parts aren't anodized or anything - they're just raw casts. There's nothing to strip, and not really any clear coat on the standard parts to match either.

The SF "polished" finish is just achieved by sanding the parts down with 200 grit sandpaper. While they use a lathe to speed things up, you can get a similar finish by wrapping your Silver pieces in sandpaper in one hand, and twisting the part with the other.

In other news, my own shipment was recently picked up. Should be in-hand next Tuesday. Just an empty hilt, and seeing an image of someone else's Weathered Body 10, I think I've got a fair bit of painting ahead of me...

I sent an email yesterday in regards to SF reporting info via the forum. Along with some other topics, Kill keys, and timing shims. With regards to the timing shims, Isha stated that All ASP sabers should be shipped with shims. "If for some reason they were not, we would be happy to send them out, just let us know and we can take care of that for you." I can't remember but someone had posted that a CSR told them they didn't have any. I hope that some recent ASP recipient, that didn't get their timing shims, email CSR and verify this.
Let the emails fly, and reply back.

I finally got my tracking number. I know this can mean 2 different things. Either it's boxed and ready for usps pickup finally OR I am still untold weeks away...

Sad to say I'm just about as excited as when they told me I was in production queue in February.

I'll be getting texts from USPS so I'll know as soon as there is movement.

That's a scary looking package.... Did all of the parts arrive ok?

Seems to be ok. Though, I did not receive any shims or o-rings. I've contacted SF and they apologized and said they will send some to my when they ship out the next batch. I doubt that I'll receive them in time for Phoenix Comicon (which starts Thursday), so I'm a little disappointed about that.

The video on the Kickstarter/IndieGoGo page where Phil explains the campaign shows him assembling one. Here's just that footage:

And because I've seen a lot of people do it: Do NOT tighten the LED retention screw before screwing on the emitter. You'll twist and break the wires on the LED.

The video is a good start, but it's rather vague, to say the least. It makes absolutely no mention about shimming to align parts, or gluing anything together, or dummy switches, or even how long to charge the battery for.

I would have expected a far more comprehensive guide, particularly for those of us who have never assembled a saber before.
