Hi Everyone,

After the sad news of Prince's passing I posted a tribute Saber, but would now like to take the opportunity to post my next design.

I am continuing with the theme of 80's adventure cartoons and have had a couple of Thundercats Sabers and now I'm going to post a Saber dedicated to one of the Transformers- Robots in Disguise. He was the smallest and weakest Autobot physically, but was as brave as a lion and loyal to the end. He was originally designed as a Volkswagen Beetle, he was Yellow, his best mate was Spike Witwicky. I think you may have guessed who he is...I present....

BUMBLEBOT:

Hopefully this Saber will give Bumblebee a bit more of a "Sting"! I hope you enjoyed this saber, and a big thank you to drgolds for teaching me the trick using coupler sections to create the hilt body!
Thanks for checking this out, I will post more soon..

I liked your Tribute saber, and this BumbleBot is really nice as well. I like the mix of Black and standard/chrome finish. It's really well done For. Nice job sir.

Hi MHM,

I wasn't an avid fan of Prince but as a fellow musician I knew one or two of his tracks and they were technically beautiful as well as sounding great. Another light fades but we here remember by designing and lighting a Saber for them.

As I mentioned, I have to give credit to drgolds for his trick using the couplers, because without that knowledge I couldn't create the striped effect. Bumblebee was a strong character design in Transformers and was one of the first Autobots we get to know after Mt St Helen erupts and awakens the Ark, so we all connect with him. It makes designing the Saber slightly easier.

Thanks as always for your comments and I will post more in the future,

I see my Bothan codebreakers deserve every credit I pay them! I mean, I certainly would never have been able to crack those incredibly subtle hints you had dropped on my own.

As for the saber itself... love it! I'm definitely going to have to add that "coupler body" trick to my own repertoire. That's pretty slick. Great striping effect.

Very nice Prince tribute as well, my friend.

For Tyeth, do you think you've got enough room for the electronics in there? It seems like it'd be very difficult, if it's even possible to fit a speaker, switches, two LEDs (or a crystal chamber and one LED) and a soundboard in there.
Though if you could, I imagine the crystal camber would produce some interesting effects with the sound.
Nice looking design at any rate! I'm going to go play more KSP now. See y'all soon!

My newest creation took me awhile, both thematically and physically. A lot of mouse clicks, this one. And it's a monster to boot! I could barely fit it on my screen when I was finished. But you'll understand why when you realize who it belongs to. No puny weapons for this guy!

Two grey grips for his pet wolves, two black blades for the ravens on his shoulders, and eight sections for the number of legs on his horse...? Let's find out what happens when you build a saber-pike for a god. I give you:

The All-Father

Who needs Gungnir when you have this?

Hi Everyone,

To Ryan-Rising, great thoughts and feedback, thanks. I did consider the internal spacing for the electronics, but I figured that the LED for the FTE pommel doesn't need to be a full 1inch module as most crystal chambers aren't lit that way. They usually have an accent LED to light them. If that wasn't possible then I could always add a coupler to extend the body of the Saber. Drgolds' technique is ingenious!

To Raphos, a fantastic creation but may I ask, did you leave any pieces in the builder for the rest of us to play with?
Seriously though I think it's great, another staff/pike for your collection. It must have been a pain to assemble it as the builder is easy to use but doesn't like illogical arrangements of parts. I can easily see why you struggled.

Thank you both for your comments and designs, hopefully more members will post their creations soon

Hi Everyone,

I am going to post this design a few hours early so I can get an early night (I promised myself I'd get more rest!).
This next Saber is for the polar opposite of Bumblebee, as this Autobot is the most powerful for his size. He is very intelligent and strategically minded even though he was a dock worker way back on their home planet. He is a leader, very respected and of course you now have a good idea who it is. So I present...

OPTIMAL:

There are actually two of these Sabers as I imagined that they could be disguised as the exhaust pipes on Optimus' shoulders and used dual wield or combined to form Optimal Staff...

Now a little preview of the next TWO designs. These are based on the Public Service Vehicles that certain Autobots were based on. As such these are a sort of tribute to the Guys and Gals that keep you all safe day and night (Boyer4 and nUcLeArEnVoY spring to mind here!), maybe you can guess who the Autobots are.

Ok that's all for now, thanks for checking this out and all the great stuff you all post here,

Ooo I like that color combo For. Does the big Autobot proud. Nice creation. I like it. Do I sense a Transformers line for your next creation set?

Hi MHM, Everyone,

This is a continuation of the 80's adventure cartoon series of Sabers I was prompted to design. We have had He-Man and Skeletor, Thundercats and now I am doing a few Transformers hilts.

I am glad OPTIMAL worked, I just hope the next two are as good!

Thanks for checking it out,

Well, with the new Transformers theme floating around, I decided to hop on this bandwagon and design a couple such sabers of my own.

Based not on his 80s variant, but on one a bit more controversial, this Autobot is tough as nails and prefers a fight to a flight. He is considered very close to his leader both as a soldier and as a friend (if he could be considered a friendly guy), and often acts as a leader in the absence of Optimus Prime. A powerful force to be reckoned with and an excellent battlefield tactician, when his weapons are primed, you know things are about to go down.

First, his right weapon, a massive saber that burns so hot that its blue color almost becomes purple.
IRONBLAST

His 'offhand weapon' is shorter and more nimble, but is just as powerful and only burns a bit cooler.
IRONPULSE

Guessed the inspiration yet?

I've mentioned on a few occasions that I had difficulty accessing the Saber Builder website as it ran ridiculously slow to even just load the default hilt let alone each individual part. Miraculously, I have found success. Don't ask what I did because I don't actually know. Steps taken were no different to attempts in the past. What I do know is it works now and I'm not questioning why.

Hi Everyone,

Thank you to Eddlyss64 and OvrcAHst for your contributions (you seem to be quite the designer OvrcAHst!)

I mentioned in my last design post that these next two were also a bit of a tribute to the Public Service workers who keep us all safe, day and night all year long as well as Transformer based.
So with that in mind this first one is in honour of the Fire and Emergency Department members out there (one of whom I believe is nUcLeArEnVoY) and is based on the Transformer - INFERNO. Here is....

EXTINGUISH:

When I decided to create this Inferno based hilt I realised that the red wrap looked very much like the old canvas wrapped fire hoses and I was able to recreate the look of the nozzle with the switch section and emitter. I even made the pommel look like a connector at the end of the "hose". The Autobot Inferno would probably feel comfortable swinging this around.

I usually say thank you to all the members who comment on my designs but this time I'd like to take the opportunity to thank the brave men and women of the Fire and Emergency Departments around the world. You give tirelessly and I thank you.

For Tyeth

Next up the Law Enforcement Forces and PROWL(ER)...
