For my first saber, I went with something angular, sleek and sharp.

From the builder -

The alignment still needs some work, but for the in person view -

Very nice! Dissident emitter + Switch 10 is always a good choice. :P

MalsBrownCoat, I really dig your ASP design. Do you like the covertech knob placement? Also, have you considered moving it to the pommel shroud retention screw hole? I've often wondered if it would work there also.

KelbornX - I came very close to getting another switch 10 for my other build. I really like the lines that it creates. Switch 10 + anything = always a good choice. ; )

=Ottomatix= - I do not like the covertec knob placement and I really wish that the technician who pulled/packed the parts would have taken the extra 30 seconds to check the alignment before the hole was drilled.

This build will probably need some pretty heavy machining adjustments to align properly because the amount of shimming that I would need to do to rotate the side with the knob around to the back would be an eyesore. Also, the tips of the "blades" on the Monarch body are preventing the switch from being as flush as it could be. So the tips will have to be filed down a bit too.

Over all the ASP program was not really the "turn-key" experience that I was expecting, but I think it has great potential with some adjustments.

It is a "turn-key" experience. You just bought the wrong set of keys! :D
What I mean is, the builder is digital and not bound by the laws of physics or reality. The saber itself is bound by those laws. You just happened to pick the right (or wrong) combination of parts that don't actually meld together properly in the real world. That's not a dig at you, just more a matter of bad luck. Your design has good flow and aesthetics, but your choice of parts don't lend themselves to the real world attributes the builder didn't account for. Long story short, You 1, builder 0.
No matter where you go, there you are.
