TOPIC: Nolaan's ASP 12w+ Lime Green - Warrior Tier

Hey guys! Just sharing a quick review on my ASP saber. Ordered on May 16th, arrived on June 15th which I think is really fast considering it travelled all the way to Poland.

The project on the ASP site looked as below:


The part list includes the following (all in standard finish):

Pommel 07
Mauler Body
Switch 10
Jade Emitter
Round Reactor blade plug (Brass V2)
37" blade
Lime Green LED stuff


1. I'm very happy that everything came in perfect condition, nothing has been damaged in transport etc. All the parts and essentials were there. I was also positively surprised that they included a EU-standard charger so I didn't have to worry about any adapters. Huge thumbs up for that.

2. First impression: hooooooooooooolllllyyyyyyy siiiiiiith that's cool.

3. The detail and work is mindblowing, better than I expected. I thought the saber would be lighter as I've watched some reviews before where people pointed that out BUT it's actually pretty good (weighs exactly 500g/17.6oz and it's 29cm/11.4 inches long). It doesn't feel awkward in my hand, it's very pleasant and none of the tiny buttons are in the way. The edges aren't that sharp so they can't really hurt the skin.

4. The allen key that came with it was actually too small for the screw and I had to use one of my own. Also, the blade plug wouldn't come out at first - it would only go deeper inside. That I easily fixed with shaving off a small unnecesary flake of metal that blocked it. All in all, minor issues that really don't matter to me but I'm just putting them out here.

5. Lime Green is a beautiful colour!

6. The kill key is very nice although I may repaint it in the future.

Great balance of parts, you may need to use locktite on the greeblies on the Mauler body section. Awesome design and colour.

Are those greeblies known for falling off at some point? I won't be dueling with the saber so it should have a calm life

Very cool 'classic' look indeed, reminds me of the designs of the movies where it's more function over form; it's still aesthetically pleasing, but it isn't made to look like that should be its first purpose

CJ88 ^^ described it perfectly! I was trying to think of a way to say what he did. Your saber looks like it was made from parts out of necessity and from what was available.

Nolaan, I'm late to the party but that saber is FAN-DAZZLE. I really like the Mauler body sad to see it sold out. Hoping it makes a return someday. Your choice of lime green LED gives it an authentic feel.I was wondering if you ever considered flipping the body?

Thanks! Yeah I totally considered flipping the body, it works well both ways. I might try that in the future, however now it has a better grip with the thicker part in the middle rather than down. And the greeblies at the bottom of the hilt make it look really authentic, like they served a purpose - and that's what I was going for. Also they remind me of my favourite hilt ever which is the Plo Koon/Windu EP1 saber

Ultimately, I will probably switch the body to Venom once it's available and I have the funds.

That's a unique looking ASP saber. So eye catching with all the buttons and screws and still appears designed to be held comfortably. Love your choice of the lime green blade. Thanks for the share.
