When SF says their sabers are combat/duel ready, they mean it. Even the thin-neck sabers (Prodigal Son, Redeemer, Exhalted) where the blade socket is not as deep as most other models due to the design, are combat ready. So, don't lose any sleep over that aspect of your future saber purchase.
Also, as was pointed out above, the blades are very tough, but you can over tighten the retention screw, and potentially cause the blade to crack there under the stress of combat. The general rule of thumb for tightening the screw is, let the screw make contact, then crank it a half to a full turn after that. That should do it in any circumstance.
