Did you charge the saber? They don't come in full charged most of the time. I believe the sabers have a safety mechanism that automatically turns off the saber when power is too low. I think it's to prevent the battery from overheating and combusting or something like that. If right, it won't let the saber turn on again until you charge it. Can someone please confirm this?

If I understand the protection circuits in the 18650s correctly, they both prevent damage to the battery from overcharging and getting too low (Li-Ions are finicky and volatile).
