I think that most of the price increases seem entirely reasonable and justified besides the hero tier. I think the apprentice tier hilts were likely priced under market value previously, and the champion tier electronics had a reasonable hike in price too. The hero tier going up so much ($126) just seems absolutely crazy to me... some of the rationale I've seen folks use to justify increased prices in this thread is WAY off base too. Expanded production should bring cost per unit down, not up.

A new center means more overhead cost. Rent goes up, have to fill out equipment, hire more people. I think the prices raises are a bit high. Apprentice hilts up 50%, Hero tier up 126 on components, that while sometimes hard to find, haven't gone up over 100 dollars. A 5-10% flat raise would have made more sense and probably been taken fine vs this. Or even just a 10-15 % raise on the base hilt, being the part they make themselves. |

I was never that interested in the Hero tier anyway. Dimmer light (for sake of having more than one colour) and custom saberfonts is about the only gain. I can have all of that by buying MHS parts if I want. The dimmer light is the biggest factor for me, though.

Our prices have gone up to cover new overhead costs detailed below.
-Higher quality and more expensive components we upgraded to in the last year, threaded blade tips, 2mm copper LED stars, 6W+ and 12W+ LEDs, 3A chargers, polycarbonate battery holders, silver plated wires, ect. -Increased labor costs, 100% employer paid health care plan, 100% employer paid dental and vision plan, 4% employer matching 401k plan, PTO and sick time. -New facilities and associated start up costs. -R&D costs for new lit stands, flat profile blades, soundboard development, ect. Hero level saber pricing needed to be revised for some time, we now have pricing for our multi font infinite color sabers with in hilt recharge that are competitive with similarly equipped sabers from other vendors using NEC or PL boards, although ours are still more affordable and BRIGHTER. |

We now have four 24"x36" 120w CO2 laser cutters and will be releasing the worlds brightest and most durable lit acrylic stands very soon. But thats just the beginning, we will be offering a whole line up of laser cut and etched products.

Thanks for the info, Phil. I think it's awesome that you give your employees benefits like PTO, sick time, and 100% healthcare, that's awesome and I'll be glad to pay a little more on my next order to support things like that.

Well isn't that a bitch. I was just about to place an order for next December consisting of 12 sabers. I WAS going to have lightsabers for groomsmen gifts and a couple for my fiancé and I. Can't afford them now. Womp. There goes the main staple to our light Star Wars theme.
