I can't find the post on FB from Mister Snyder.. But he said it was body was two pieces connected together with thread caps.

So that's how they'll get ASP compatible curved hilts. Smart design. I wonder if they'll ever do a curved hilt with a wrap the length of the body between the caps to hide the seam?

Also looks like the thread caps freely-rotate with locking set screws so you can align the pommel/coupler juuuuuuust right.

A SF employee leaked a vid of the Vanquish and I grabbed some screencaps:

That is one thin saber. I like it. Looks like I know what I am saving up for.

The way it is shaped reminds me of a Mantis Shrimp. I love that windowed emitter. Really nice design they created.

Hmmm...
This raises an interesting question for me. Now seeing it in someone's hands I don't know if I like how pogressed the curve is, unlike the Bane, which is a very obvious curve. Good grief this is taxing, to figure out which curved hilt I'd want...

I watched this video on the FB page, and Morgan just seems to be having WAY too much fun teasing us with this saber. :P :silly:

Hi All,

No Brax, what's really teasing is that I have Google software etc on my Tablet and when I went to view some videos on YouTube I was sent a message asking "Would you like to Join Morgan Garrett's Channel, based on your viewing habits?"
I thought "what the..?" as Morgan "Slave One" Garrett had just joined the forum at the time! Talk about interactive!

kind regards,

For Tyeth

P.S. I do know what you mean though, first the Chosen that he got and now the new Vanquish!

I am not sure if Morgan is a SF employee, or not. However, I do see he and Daniel Lane appearing in sparring videos together pretty often, and he does seem to have the inside track on new release sabers, so....

@Eddlyss64, where do you typically grip a saber, when fighting one handed?
@Brax, Considering I just tried to purchase a Grand Master from Jordan and was laughed at as he said it was the first one made. I'm going with inside track, and I'd do it too. lol

The curve seems to be pretty far down the hilt near the base/pommel. The Bane is very much a single handed weapon. The Vanquish..... Hard to say. Almost want to flip it around and hold it like a katana:

It's alright. Not as impressed as I was with the Bane.

The Bane is 100% viciousness. This is much more.... subtle. It definitely have some design improvements such as the cast body held together by threaded caps. I see this as a sorta preview of what the ASP curved pieces will look like.

The pommel and emitter are VERY solid designs.
I wonder if they'll ever do a curved hilt with a wrap the length of the body between the caps to hide the seam?
Oooooooooo. That's a great idea.

@SuUp, my grip usually varies based on the move or spin I'm going into. I usually have my saber in a loose hammer grip close to the choke point like this:

Sometimes I loosen my hand to accomodate for lunges or certain stances.
I agree with h2soy, it might almost be better to wield in a traditional iaido or kendo form. However, that means that I've probably prefer the Bane as a curved hilt, as I've wanted to try curved hilt sabering for a while now.
