I don't know if ASP will offer or not a Venom's body in wraps. But you can substitute using other bodies that do offer wraps on ASP. I would prefer to go through Custom Shop to be sure. Good luck and keep us posted. The fact that the photo you posted clearly shows a Venom in wraps may indicate it can be done, it's just a question of how.

Actually, it shows an ASP saber, not a Venom with a wrapped body. That's what you said it was, but that was incorrect. ;)

Maybe it's a Weathered Descent with a different Pommel?

Wrapped Venom: SaberForge Customs can do it. Main Site (in the past) accepted this accommodating the request for an extra charge at POS or as 'send-back' (as eluded to, by Davidogilvie-which uncannily sounds a lot like Ex66 when comparing narrations) and undoubtedly, ASP can do it. One thing is certain, that's a big knife.

So after doing some research, since the Jury's still out for the answer to OP's question (I am convinced it's an Ackbar Wrap as the pattern matches his head but I digress), Gunner heard the mention of Knife.

Ex66, for the record, Otto's reference image is an ASP Hilt with Venom parts and not actually a 'Venom'. *insert 'let me esplain' meme here*

The image was referenced as the inclusive +17 images Posted on Fb Feb 3.

In Otto's 'Faux Venom' image just above the switch there are 2 bands & 1 accent groove and features an ASP Limited Ed. Blade Plug (reference last image from BZArcher).
The comparison 'Actual Venom' (apart from the grenade grip) just above the switch there are 3 bands & 2 accent grooves and features a SF Blade Plug with flat top.

That's good, SF has given more choices. The photos show what is not available on the main website as far as a 100% "accurate" Venom is concerned. My view is the ASP version is of minor difference except obviously that of the wrap. That's the whole point of ASP, that you can construct identical if not near identical original SF hilts. For example, I intend to use ASP to acquire the SF Rebel (missed out on the original run). ASP construct will probably be slightly different in the finer details but essentially still a Rebel.

Apparently I missed this thread.

Back when you could send SF extra money via PayPal for customizations (before PayPal got mad about it for some reason), SF would simply switch out the grenade grip with the body of a Reliant for customers who wanted leather wrappings on a Venom, Viper, or Venomous Fury (like with Davidogilvie's Venom and Miraluka's Viper), as even before ASP some saber parts shared similar threading. I myself asked about getting a Viper with a Avenger pommel, and was told it wouldn't require any extra machining and I would only need to send $20 extra as that part cost a bit more.

As for wrap that is in that Reliant's picture, I'd go with brown reptile (based on the Resilient picture), but either one that came out differently or it's the new way that style will look from now on. I think the Reliant was one of the ones that got new pictures by the old Big Red, so it could be the latter.

I know we don't like talking about other companies but VV has a I forgot it payment area.. where you add something you forgot in your initial purchase to be added to your order. I hope SF can do something like that.

Last time I checked, it was the Ultrasabers forum that banned mention of any other company, not this one. You should be fine mentioning them, and they certainly have a good idea. Saberforge could use such an option.
The above post may be subject to editing. A lot of editing.

Ahh forgot it was them. Anyways yeah, it would be handy. I have forgotten before to add a leather wrap and was told I was out of luck. A forgot to add purchase area would be IMO the greatest single addition to the website.

Did any closure get obtained about the identity of the 'Ackbar' Wrap?

EDIT: OPs Image reference is indeed very different to what is pictured above of the 3 Finish types.

I did hear back. The word was that it just showed up one day, and that my source said that he thinks in fact that "IS" reptile wrap, "he thinks!" Our correspondence over the matter was left at that and I didn't fish for more info. We will see if this eventually becomes the standard or it's some unexpected/unintentional purchase from Saberforge's wrap distributor. Hopefully the next saber reviewer that orders a Brown reptile wrap, will solidify this conundrum.

True, but how would a potential next saber purchaser go about with this without the website providing a description? I would guess the purchaser would have to email SF like you did and then decide from there.

Now that I have my first wrap saber (the Templar V2 Dark Red Leather wrap), I am quite fond of leather wraps. :)

It is confirmed then. The Wrap is an Ackbar Wrap!

Ex66 makes a valid point.

Seems counter productive with not having a defined description for the pictured Wrap which will only dramatically increase email correspondence with attempts to request it correctly. I have noticed that Wrap options aren't available for the Juggernaut either. Is one to conclude that a 'default' Wrap is pre-selected or does it become 'at the technician's discretion' with what you end up with?

I would say the Juggernaut has full wrap options just like any other. Its website hasn't been updated correctly as far as wraps are concerned when several hilts were made available in one go at the main site. I would simply add a comment that you would like whatever color wrap instead of the pictured Black Reptile.

To clear up my point about the next reviewer. As they go through there original stock of Brown reptile wrap and use it up, eventually the "Ackbar wrap" will have to be used at some point. That's is what I was eluding to. Like I said it's a conundrum that we are only left to ponder. Since Justin wasn't specific about the details, he suggested inquiring elsewhere. I've not pursued the later as of yet, and most likely won't.
It's an interesting style wrap, but there are no saber purchases scheduled, in my near future.MTFBWY
