Hey all, I have a little bit of a dilemma; the plastic portion of the recharge port (the circle portion that the kill key inserts into) has come loose and pulls out some when I pull the kill key. I've been quite gentle with the kill key, so I haven't been man-handling it to where it would do this by my fault of being rough. It appears that they were a little conservative on the glue/epoxy they used when gluing it back together (I sent it in for repairs last September and they did a complete gut and reinstall of all of the electronics; I had a faulty sound board). Now, the glue has lost its hold somehow.

I'd prefer not to spend +/- $25 in shipping, plus waiting for a week or more just to add a little dab of a bonding agent and let it sit for a few hours. I'll be rounding my one year mark in August, but since my other sabers I have ordered won't be in my possession until July, I highly doubt I'll break my saber before then. I fully understand a tiny dot of glue could potentially void my warranty.

With that being said, would anyone have any suggestions on what type of glue to use? I know of some stronger epoxies and glues, but I want the best option, not an "ok" one.

I appreciate your help in advance! I have a Champion Avenger.

I'll add pictures later if that will help clarify my problem.

"Loctite", key chemical ingredient is Cyanoacrylate. You need to be quick with it, meaning apply a small amount and fasten the surfaces together immediately.

I appreciate your input! I just wanted to make sure I used a good bonding agent that will last for a long time.

Consider impact tough gorrilla glue. Basically super glue thats been designed for impacts and vibration.

I use it on arrow head inserts, and ive never had to replace an insert. Ive flattened arrow heads, and even put an arrow straight through 3/4" plywood and never lost an insert. I have never used it on metal, however, so i dont know how well it might bond.

Its quite cheap and should be available at any hardware/department store.

I dont mean to double post, but jb weld 2 part epoxy is basically indestructible as well. Just use sparingly.

That would definitely get the job done, though loctite (and other similar adhesives) are usually used because they can be released using heat, which is useful if you need to get it out to fix/replace any wiring or even the unit itself.
