Hi all,

So after I picked up a few hilts, I started to realize I had the bad habit of putting my allen key for my blade retention screw down and then forgetting where I put it. It is small and easily lost (like in the couch for example). I have the fold-up pocket allen wrench sets, but I have to go to my toolbox to get it each time.

So, I did a little digging because I wanted a 5/64 SAE allen wrench on my keychain. I couldn't find anything, so I did this:

I apologize, my camera did not want to focus on the allen wrench which is why the shots seem far off.

Bascially, I ordered a $2 allen key set from Amazon, but it came in Metric despite stating it was SAE. I pulled the spring out and put one of my allen keys in.

Granted, you have to really make sure you keys don't brush against your saber, but I always have it now.

Anyone else find a good solution to keeping up with your allen wrench? :-)

That is a great idea!

Another possibility is the new covertech clip that will be coming soon from SF will have a small hole that is intended to hold an allen wrench, and another hole on the other side for holding a kill key. So, between your solution, and this one, lost kill keys and not having a wrench handy should be a thing of the past!

Thanks. I was completely unaware of this. So the covertech knob is going to hold a wrench and a kill key. That sounds really cool! Is there an image out there of this? I'd love to see how that works.

I figured someone one Etsy or eBay would have made a portable allen wrench key chain. I had a harder time finding that than I though. I found one guy who was trying to do a quick starter with allen wrenches that look like regular keys. I'm not sure that made it off the ground.

The covertech wheel itself will not hold the kill key, and allen wrench. The covertech clip on your belt will. Thomas Snyder posted a picture of it on the FB group. I will see if I can find it, but since it was in a reply in long chain of replies to a different subject post, it is going to be a needle in a haystack. At any rate, he said these would start appearing as soon as their existing stock was depleted.

Wow, I completely misread your first post, HA.

Sorry about that. What you are saying makes SO much more sense. I was wondering how that was going to work. HA! Sorry about that. LOL

I can't find the video at the moment, but I saw someone with a Maul saber (don't know from where) that attached a small piece of an Allen wrench to the bottom of one of the knob greeblies, and then found a way to keep it attached to the hilt when not in use.

How about a kill key that is also an Allen wrench? This way if you have one , you have both. Granted this also means if you lose one you lose them both.
