Hey there. Proud owner of a 12 watt green guardian here. Unfortunately I had to send it back for repairs shortly after receiving it, as there was an issue with the recharge socket. Got it back a month or so ago and life has been pretty good since. Recently however, I've notice the blade has started to flicker. I always have it set to "optical frequency 1" so it's none one of the built in effects. It seems to periodically dim and flicker for a few seconds at a time before resuming it's normal solid glow. At first I thought this may have just been the battery going flat, but I've noticed the same effect when the saber is fully charged.

Has anyone else encountered this? Is this normal? Don't get me wrong. I love my lightsaber to bits, and I really, really reaaaally don't want to send it off for repairs a second time.

I had the same thing happen to my Exhalted. It would do that to start and then eventually doing other random things such as the sound going out and coming back, motion sensing going out, and sometimes not turn on at all. It might be a faulty soundboard which I think ended up being the problem with mine. Just contact CS and send it in for an RMA. Try to ask for a regular installer to work on your hilt if possible. The RMA techs don't seem to be the sharpest individuals in my experience.

Try loosening the LED wires by unscrewing the LED retention screw first, then let loose the wires with LED unit (everything still connected) and then insert it all back in. I once had the same observation, but then I loosened and re-inserted it all back in (everything connected throughout). Problem fixed. Maybe over a period of time, the wires have been compressed too much.

Thanks for the reply man, I've emailed Saberforge about, still awaiting a response. I'm hoping there is a simple solution. Sending the Saber off for repairs a second time would make me quite unhappy.

Thanks for the response man, I'm not sure where the LED retention screw is located on the Guardian, the only one clearly visible is the blade retention screw. Do I void my warranty by doing this?

Typically the LED retention screw is directly below the blade retention screw. Looking at the Guardian, my gut that the screw is under the top of the shroud and you will need to remove the covertec and the shroud to get to it.

So I successfully removed the shroud and was able to adjust the LED unit. Let the wires loose, gently put everything back together. Problem still persists, seems to be getting worse.

Thanks for the advise, I'm now able to remove the shroud with ease. Still haven't been able to find a solution though. :(

I've recently noticed something similar with my Bastion. It seems to dim whenever a sound effect plays, like the motion sounds or the voice on the options menu. Thought it was a low battery, but I left it hooked up to the charger overnight and while I was at work, and it still does it. Have you gotten a response from CS?

That's exactly how mine started. The light would dim during sound effects, especially noticeable in the menu.
Then it progressively got worse and worse and now it flickers constantly even on full charge.

I contacted customer service, who told me to send it back for repair. I'm resistant to do so though, since I've already had to send it back once, and shipping from Australia isn't exactly cheap.
