TOPIC: Changing defaults

I purchased a hero sentinel and it defaults to a red blade and to a sound font I am not particularly fond of. How do I change these to say purple essence? I've found the setup menu by holding the aux button and unplugging the stopper...just not the easiest setup...

You'd need to change those setting on the SD card itself, using the config editor. You'd need to make the new default font and blade color associate with Font 1.

How do I get at the SD card easily?

That I don't know, having never had an SF installed NEC soundboard. In some cases, when you remove the pommel the chassis will just slide out and that should give you easy access, but I don't know how it is on different hilts.

The Speaker is contained within a housing made of grey PVC. Stuck to one side is the fluffy, non-sticky side of Velcro Tape and a short tab for pulling it out. The fit is tight and shaky and pulling fights against the female threads. Pull the tab gently to loosen the housing and alternating a gentle press on opposite sides on the inside of the PVC, tease and pull repeatedly to guide it over the bumpy road of the threads. Once near the Outer-Rim , slowly guide the speaker and housing out without yanking as it's just wires on the darkside. The Velcro tab is handy however mounted on one side means that its intended use does not enable a centred pull.





You'll need some needle nose pliers (closed) to press against the SD card and hear a click from eject. Same pliers (open) and carefully grab the Card and remove.

The Spark Color 2 (the soundboard Hero tier sabers come with) can adjust blade and effect colors using one of the in hilt menus.

hey Forum, so i have a hero tier Bastion and i was wondering if any of you know how to save the color to a specific font. for example, i want to save my second color (blue) for my Ep. 2 Font, but whenever my kill key is put back in, it turns red again when i go back to it. help really appreciated

You may need to download the latest firmware for the board, available on the product page for the board on NEC's website (also includes a download link for the Config editor program, and videos showcasing how to utilize the in hilt menus, or "Saber Apps").

Please keep in mind that the fonts that Saberforge includes that come with the Spark Color 2 have somewhat changed in newer variations so back up your SD card before you do anything. If you go into the config editor, you should be able to assign the color to each font. If you do need to update the firmware, it should just be replacing the DAT folder from your card with the one from the newer files from Naigon's site that Jaden refers to above. Remember, back up first.

I have not done this before, but try renaming the folder of your Ep. 2 Font to Font 1 and the original Font 1 folder to whatever the Ep. 2 font folder was.

i.e. if "Father son" is in folder "Font 1", and, "Ep. 2" is in folder "Font 2", rename folder "Font 1" to "Font 2" and folder "Font 2" to "Font 1"

Now go into the config editor, save Blue to Font 1 (which is now Ep. 2). and save Red to Font 2 (or whatever Font red was on originally)

Essentially, you are swapping data files around.

Now when you plug and unplug the kill key, the board will reset to/start on Font 1 which is now your Ep. 2 font, where you have blue as the default color.

Please let us know if this works.

Maybe someone else knows how to reconfigure the board to default to a different font when power is re-applied to the board (removing the kill key) so all this swapping would be un-neccessary.

I am looking for the SD card so i can change the fonts, anyone know where i can find it?

This is my first blade. I love it. I dont wanna mess it up by looking for it on my own

I have a Hero tier Monarch and when i followed the description above, the PVC wasnt connected to the speaker, and the speaker wont budge, so i am assuming it is elsewhere
