Does anyone else want to go in costume for the premiere of The Force Awakens or at least bring their saber? Because I know I really do.

Of course! I'm severely lacking in the boot department/funds to buy boots for my costume at the moment though. I have a belt, tunic, some brown pants and then a lightsaber hopefully on the way soon. Haven't decided who or what I'll cosplay as aside from a generic jedi costume.
Side Note: I'm sure I'm not the only one who's thought of it but everyone should keep in mind that AFTER the movie, I expect SF to be swamped with orders so if you're ordering another saber anytime soon, make sure it's before the movie (not to mention Christmas  )

I'm currently building my costume out of veg leather. My profile picture is the concept. Helmet fabrication begins in September.

Ooh, nice concept! I hope you post pictures of the finished costume.  I'm going to go as Mara Jade. I've already bought the wig and started sewing up a mockup jumpsuit out of some spare dancewear knit, so I know what I'm doing before I start cutting into the nice fabric. I'm hoping to take it to a convention in October, that's why I'm getting started so early. My local theater absolutely loves it when people come to premieres in costume and I've had tons of compliments when my friends and I dress up for the Marvel and Hobbit movies, so I'm hoping Mara is met with great praise too.

Sounds sweet! I've never had a big enough reason to cosplay but I'm seriously beginning to consider putting some jedi or sith gear together.

Totally! I got my Jedi robes yesterday, now I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of my lightsaber. I've dressed up to a few movies and I'll go in garb to a Renaissance Faire or convention. I'm hoping I can get my friends and my brother to dress up with me.

I actually got my robes from Amazon; I'm pretty impressed with the quality and I'll post pictures tomorrow. The robe has several separate parts: The pants, a belt, an obi, a tabard, an undershirt and an overshirt akin to a haori and a robe. The robe I think without looking at it is 50/50 Cotton/Polyester while the other parts are 100% cotton and somewhat hefty granted cotton's density. I'd be happy to provide a link for the robe if you'd like one.
As for my Lightsaber, of course I ordered Saberforge. It's a Disciple, Champion Edition, Green coloration with a Light Green wrap. I think my next saber will be the Reliant, also Champion Edition though I haven't made any decisions on LED color or wrap color; it's a tossup between a shade of Blue or Amber. |
