So i'm new to the light saber scene and wanted to ask you clever guys something before buying one.

I can see that there is a difference in the type of LED you can buy, 6w or 12w.
So my question is, if i buy a saber with 6w, is that only the LED in the saber or the compatibility with other LEDs, so if i later on want to go for a 12w instead i can't because i didn't buy the 12w.

Hope you guys can help me.

:)

EDIT: Forgot to mention what saber i'm looking at, it's the Arbiter warrior edition.

From the FAQ:
Q - Is the 12W upgrade worth the price?

A - Short answer: Yes! Absolutely it is. Long answer: Depending upon which tier of saber you select, it can also have an impact on the battery used for the saber. If you're getting a warrior tier saber, the 6W is powered by AAA batteries. You will end up spending more than the $30 12W upgrade price in no time at all in batteries with this set up. The 12W warrior comes with the 18650 rechargeable, tho only the Bane currently offers an in-hilt recharge port for the warrior tier. The increased power draw does not impact battery life in a hugely negative fashion; the 12W LEDs are just more powerful, and capable of doing more. For example: hero tier sabers only offer a 12W LED.

So, depending upon the rest of your selections, it does have an impact. If you get a 6W champion, you can upgrade it to 12W champion at any time. 6W Warrior, not so much, have to upgrade the internals as well. So, just depends.

Okay, that is good to know, so it's just all around good to get the 12w instead.

Especially when choosing an Arbiter Warrior edition.

So the LEDs you get in the hilt from the start also determines the fact that you can't later change to an 12w if you have 6w.

You can ALWAYS change the internals of your saber. One way is just easier/cheaper than the other.

SF doesn't sell color discs... they may have some available upon special requests, not sure. But there aren't any listed on the site or their Etsy. Contact SF to find out what they recommend using, would be my advice. :)

I have seen them for sale elsewhere, so if you are after them, you can find them. What I am not sure of is if they will seat correctly in SF emitters, as I have never tried.
Imagine what you will know tomorrow....
