How are the edges on the consular? Does it need to be sanded down a bit? I've been looking for a good practice warrior blade that's balanced but also feels comfortable in the hands. This design looks the smoothest of the apprentice list.

I've had a Disciple, Acolyte, Consular, and Arbiter... they're all pretty smooth. The Consular and Arbiter's windows have the best chances of being a little sharp around the very edges of all four. The Disciple is extremely smooth and comfortable, but the points are rather sharp on the emitter. However, if you're hitting anythign with them you're doing something wrong. ;)

I would honestly suggest trying out the Arbiter, however. The v2 is AMAZINGLY well balanced and perfect for one and two handed use.

I've heard great things about the Arbiter V2. Saw someone post pics on FB. I haven't seen it on Etsy yet. So I assume it's not fully available. Something to keep in mind.

They just haven't updated the pics on Etsy yet. ALL Arbiters going out now are V2s.

Edit: if the pics were purple, that was probably mine you saw, lol

Hey everyone,

I'd like to order the consular but wondered about the balance of the blade with the 37 and 32 inch blades. As the hilt is a bit shorter, I would think that the 37" blade would be blade heavy but is this so?

Many thanks for the answers ;)

Andro

I can't remember where i saw it, but I thought i saw somewhere here in the forums that the 32 in blade is actually recommended for the shorter hilts. As I am 6'2" I actually ordered the 32 because of my height and long arm reach.

Apologies for "necro-posting", but as a noob reading as much as I can... with the question of balance comes a curiosity about weight. Approximately how heavy is your SF weapon as pictured above?

I am trying to figure out how heavy is "just-right" for my little boy's first blade. I am pretty sure that we will need to start with the shortest blade available and take it from there.

Thanks! — Darth Moe

Nonsense! Get him the heaviest and build that Sith(or Jedi, no judging here) hunting muscle early!

Hehehehe... no arguments there, but seriously, knowing the weights (for components and total weight) will go a long way in my figuring out shipping costs for me as well.
