Hey SF forums again,

In the few months since my last post on here, I've been window shopping Craigslist for a good saber deal instead of ordering a Warrior-Apprentice saber sooner, making it very unlikely for me to get one by TFA's release, but it looks like my waiting has paid off! I just found not just one Warrior-Elite saber on CL, but THREE. From what I can tell, the sabers are a blue Epoch, a green weathered Fury, and a blue Venom. The ad reads:

I have 3 saber forge light sabers for sale. They are 9/10 for condition. Everything works, no defects, cracks or any other surprise. They do not make sound, but kids seemed to enjoy doing this on their own.
The handles are all aluminum, very stought. They are advertised as being able to be used in a " sword fight" meaning you can smash them together as hard as most kids 12 and under can manage repeatedly with no issues. I'm sure adults trying to break them could damage them, but you can fight with them and not pull your swings short. The price is firm, please don't waste time asking if I'll take less. The black saber handel is supposed to look aged, they are not worn and got little use.
Measurements for each saber will appear in the pictures.

I'm working on an email to send the seller, but I don't know if I'm asking enough. So far they are the following:

Do they come with a stand?
Is a hex key included to remove the blade retention screw?
How long did you own your sabers?
Do your sabers use triple-A batteries, or do they use a rechargable battery, and if so is the charger included ?
The last question I figured is the easy way to ask what the LED's wattage is.

If there's any other questions I should ask the seller, let me know in a reply. Now, I know there's something about a warranty for SF sabers, but I don't know much about that to know if these sabers will be covered after I buy them. The sabers also look different compared to the stock imagery on the main store, mainly the Epoch's exposed emitter (store vs Craigslist) and the Venom's claws (store vs Craigslist), so I may be looking at discontinued ones here.

Thanks for reading!

Yeah, those definitely look like older generation sabers (at least the epoch and venom).

As far as questions go, I'd remember to ask about blade plugs. Not sure what else though, seems like all of your bases are covered.

Cheers, DJZ, I'll ask about those as well. Wonder if anyone on here can identify how old these sabers are.

That's the "V2" epoch for sure - looks exactly like mine.

I'd also ask if they run off AAA batteries (6W) or rechargeable 1850 batteries (12W).

How is your V2 Epoch, and when did you get it? I'm still debating over these things, since I've seen a few photos where the upper half of an older epoch broke off after some dueling.

I'm still looking up reviews for the other sabers. They're over a year old, so I think SF's warranty won't cover them anymore, plus it might be kinda difficult to match these older sabers with the ones in the review section of the forum.

If it were me (and I'd be tempted if I can find that ad) I'd buy them all- send them to Saberforge and pay for new 12w electronics and then sell whichever I didn't like- paying for the one I did which in this case would be that Venom

I got mine secondhand - I believe it's 2 years old.

That upper shroud is held on by the same retention screw as the blade. If you're worried about it coming loose, I'd suggest using some gorilla glue or epoxy to set the shroud in place, then you can just use the retention screw for the blade.

It's not bad for dueling so far, but the edges around the switch and the emitter can be a little uncomfortable, especially if I'm not wearing gloves. As I understand it, the newer Epoch was design with easier dueling and spins in mind as a result.

They're almost certainly out of warranty at this point, but SF will still work on them if you need fixes or upgrades - you're just paying for them at that point. :) I'm going back and forth about sending mine into the Forge for a Champion install or possibly trading / selling it to finance something else.

Got an update from the seller, they all take triple-As, no blade plugs, and were used very little by the owner and his kids, since they didn't seem to take into the account that they have high-quality sabers to begin with, sadly.

Buying and reselling? That sounds like a good idea. I'd hate to say it, but I can also do price hikes to whatever I don't want since TFA is coming soon. The uniqueness of the v2 Epoch with its emitter is calling to me the most, however. I may keep that one instead of a Venom, but adjustments will be needed.

The Fury doesn't seem to have any problems with its reviewers on this board whatsoever save for the same sharpness the Epoch may have at the tip. The seller sanded it down before giving it to his kids, and he says there's no problems with them at the moment, but I should be able to sand them down again. With the two large choke points near the emitter and the pommel along with enough length for two hands, it may be the best for two handed combat.

The Venom I'm not entirely sure if I like the claws. They're removable, but I don't think I would want to do that since that's the main buying point of the Venom. Only one choke point near the emitter as well, so it can be held by two hands with comfort easily.

As for upgrading them, I don't want to ship them from my home in California all the way to Oregon, even though the chances I can easily swap the LEDs out are slim. I'm sure I'll be fine with whatever wattage they have already.

Thanks for your opinion on the Epoch, Archer. I'm more worried about the smaller tube breaking out of the saber, though, since it's one inside the other. I came across this modded v2 Epoch in the reviews section:

Looks pretty damn good. I may want to try that setup in addition to glues like you suggested.

Also, I just met someone located 10 minutes from me who was selling two non-converted Maul MRs for the same price as these three SF sabers ($300), while the SFs are an hour North from here. SF seller has agreed to meet halfway if I do take up his offer. Third option is to not buy any of them, but I've got an itch only a saber can scratch. What do you guys think?

Well, the saber you pictured is actually the original V1 Epoch - what I'm talking about is this:

The central "tube" is quite solid - no worries about anything breaking or slipping. The shroud I'm talking about is the cowl that goes over the top part of the emitter. The "windows" are part of the central core, and do not move.

Seller's also talking with another guy, but he can't show them until Sunday, plus this other dude is currently trying to lowball the seller, and the ad clearly read: "the price is firm, please don't waste time asking if I'll take less", so hah hah to him.

At this point he's waiting to see if I buy them, if not then he'll put them on eBay. He's not in a hurry to sell them, so I should be in the clear. Just gotta make sure I get my airsoft gear sold.

Man, if you pull that off, tell me your secret. I have a fair amount of old airsoft gear collecting dust that I don't want.

Also- buying and reselling is a great way to both make a bit of money (woo TFA!) as well as try out different hilts. It's what I've done to find the hilts I like- just got two more to try left. - IF you ended up doing that and sold the venom, I'd be interested lol

Flea markets, my friend! Aside from craigslist ads for myself (it's been months and no offers D: ) there's some people at the flea market near me who I've been told buy airsoft stuff since they're army surplus freaks. I have idea if the rumors are true, but I've heard it from maybe three people at this point.
