Just throwing this out there. While I know that many don't read the FAQ out of the very human condition that people tend to dive in rather than read instructions, I just have to offer that for some (admittedly not all) non native speakers the FAQ is a very daunting wall of text. Just making an educated guess based on what I see that English is not Jimster's first language. While I know it gets old because of the overwhelming majority of people don't care to read that rather large document document know as the FAQ, in some rare cases simply referring the person to the FAQ may not be the best option (Again and I can't emphasize enough in very rare cases). I think Knytri's short answer in this case fits the bill. Just a suggestion.

That is a valid point.
I guarantee that if someone said that English was not their primary language, I would supply the requested information. It is just difficult to know when that situation is called for ahead of time.

Hi Jimster, I am new to this forum also but have been around watching a few months. I would like to back up Faethien's comments by saying I have seen many people welcomed warmly on this forum including myself. I don't think any insult was intended and would like to extend my welcome and hope you stick around!

This is why making assumptions is dangerous! That being said, I do not think any insult was intended either, but it definitely could have been stated in a more polite manner, I imagine. Please do not take offense, however, we enjoy everyone's presence here on the forums and would love to have you as part of our discussions.
