Sorry about the wait to get back to you, I was just trying to help Gojira 101 with a saber staff that he's building. Man are they awkward to work out! Hopefully your friend's staff will be easier.

Back to your saber, I just love how it looks as if it was lifted from the screen and looks real, yet isn't a canon hilt. I think it gives it presence. Classic. I like the extended pommel as well as the shorter one so I'm happy either way.

I ordered mine with the black reptile wrap to fit in with my storyline I'm writing for my character, For Tyeth.

Just love it, what colour did you pick by the way?

Ah that sounds like an easier build (I hope!) Gojira had sound on his staff setup so needed a vented coupler to allow the sound out.The problem for him is that the threads don't follow male to female etc.

I have arthritis in my hands so hearing the pommel is easy to remove is a relief.
I have to say the wrap looks really substantial and comfortable. I'm so glad you said Green and it's so Bright, I've got 12w Green coming my way also! If you check out the topic "Instead of complaints, how about some stories?" You' ll discover why I chose green.

When you get it let the battery fully charged it will take at least 12 hours but it's worth it the green will be blinding bright

MEDICAL UPDATE - I have psoriatic arthritis AND NOW I AM BLIND!

Not really but I just got a shock, while typing my last post, you changed the pic of the hilt to the LIT green picture, and I clicked back to the thread and your new photo nearly blinded me! Man that blade is bright! Beautiful as well. I think that may be the brightest one I've seen so far. It looks very evenly lit from hilt to tip, does it have the normal 12W or did you get those new 12W+ LEDs? Thanks for the tip on charging. You have made me realise I chose wisely.

Again sorry for the delay getting back to you but I had to sleep, I had been awake 18hrs and it was the early hours of the morning for me in the UK. Pro-Plus and Monster Energy only do so much.

My wife (Thylacinewings here on the forum) made a spear/naginata out of her Reborn.

Took 4 spear extensions, and she got a shoto blade that we're going to cut down to about 18 inches. You can kind of see it in the below picture (it's the blue blade).

My main advice (since I believe you said that sound isn't a issue with your friend's build) would be to use something like thread tape or loc-tite on the extensions. They tend to loosen with a lot of dueling. Also, don't stick ALL of them together. Leave the saber, pommel, and maybe the middle extension join unglued. That way you can still use the hilt by itself, and/or break the spear shaft down for transport.

Hi Afadir, thanks for your input. I have seen some posts from you and your wife elsewhere. That is one impressive weapon you have created there, it looks as if it is solid and not made of sections at all. I have seen other staffs/spears and each joint just screams look at me, whereas yours are really nice and blended, giving it real character, well done!
I like the Lok-Tite tip.

The design was all her doing. It's her baby and I stayed out of it. :cheer:

But yes, the grip wrapping makes a definite difference in giving the piece a unified appearance.

Please don't take offence but I think your wife is a 'Crazy, Creative Genius!' I say this having seen some of her earlier posts to knytiri! EEEEEEEeeeeeeeEEEEEEeeeee lol.

I am a single blade hilt type but with this thread and one of the others I've posted on I believe I'm beginning to like these weapons. I mentioned Rey's staff in another post and your wife's spear has that same movie look to it, fantastic.
