On colors: I understand that most sabers are made with 2 6W (or optionally 4 3W) and can mix those colors. I am looking for a bit more info. Are colors fully customizable? When I plug it into my computer do I then switch between color A(6W), color B(6W), or color C (12W), selecting any of the three as my clash color? Or while on the computer can I actually change color A B and therefore C to anything, creating custom colors?

I ask as this is one of the primary decisions as to what my first saber might be.

On colors, I know that the color of your saber is determined by the LED module you buy. For example, if when ordering your saber you ask for a blue blade color, then your LED module will have blue LEDs. I don't think that wired customization as you describe it is a thing. Certain LED lights make up certain colors, and that combo is chosen when you are ordering a saber Champion tier down.

I don't know about plugging your saber into a computer, that may just be an Ultrasabers thing, but I'm not sure.

The only saber tier that can change color blade is the Hero tier with the RGBA format. I, however, know next to nothing about this format, as I really have no intent to buy a saber at the Hero tier.

I wish you luck to your first saber purchase, and I hope I was helpful.

Thank you for the quick reply. I should have been more clear. I am unsure if it will be for my first saber or not, but I am asking about the Hero tier with the customizable color.

Got it. Yeah, as I stated, I know almost nothing about the Hero tier, so I guess I can't help you. :P
Whether or not you do end up going Hero, I hope you enjoy your time here. Even if you decide to drop to Champion or Warrior class for your first, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

I think your question is best answered in the Help & FAQ post on this forum found here:
https://saberforgeforum.com/forum/welcome/1305-comprehensive-faq-and-more-please-read-first

To make it a little easier i think the part you're looking for is the following taken from that post:

Hero - SF's saber with the most options. These feature a soundboard with 6 customizable soundfonts, which can be changed on the SD card included on every board, just inside the bottom of the hilt. There is both an onboard menu for some options, and a menu on the SD card to customize and set up your saber's settings to your preferred state. These come with a 12W LED, with a few options: Hero sabers offer color-changing abilities. You can, if you do not want color changing, request a single, 12W LED color to be solid. The standard setup for a Hero is 2 6W colors mixed for 1 12W. IE: Red 6W and Amber 6W for a 12W Blood Orange. The other option is the RGBA, which offers several colors at 3W, mixing for 6W, up to a 12W with all of the LED die lit. The higher tier board also offers other features, such as color pulse and flash on clash, depending on your LED choice. Color pulse will be included on any LED, as it just varies the intensity of the LED brightness, and can be customized on the SD card. The flash feature is available on the RGBA and 6W/6W/12W LED setup, and can also be customized on the SD card settings. These have in-hilt recharge, and come with the charger necessary, the battery pre-installed in the saber, a blade plug, covertech wheel installed on the saber (belt clip system separate) and your choice of a 26, 32, or 37in Infinity Edge v4 blade. Hero sabers also have 2 lit AV switches. They will be the 2 6W colors you selected, unless otherwise directed (requested in the comments.)

Yes, I did read that. I was just looking for a clarification. It says it can be changed but I just want to be sure that is not only between the 3 colors, but between any colors.

I believe each LED can be changed by numerical color value, 0-255. I've also read on this forum somewhere that it works out to be 16.8 million-batrillion-gazillion colors, or something like that. :P

So I thought I may as well ask this here as it is related to my first question, and I may as well not open a new thread.

Saberforge Indiegogo has the custom sabers. I was wondering if anybody knew if those sabers (at the level with sound and blade, say the $350) have the hero level options of color changing, blade lock flashes etc.

Also, any idea when the campaign on indiegogo ends?

There is no hero electronic kit yet. However if you order an empty hilt (no electronics/LED) you could as This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to do a hero install for you. The IGG campaign ends today but ASP will be back. How soon it's hard to say but I'm speculating this means that ASP will finally be integrated into the SF website soonish.

Not sure if this is frowned upon or not but i found this guys bane video helpful when looking at hero tier sabers.

To be clear this is not my video just one I found helpful in my random searching on hero tier stuffs.

Color editor stuff around 6 minutes 26 seconds in.
Hope that helps a bit.

I bought a hero level saber as my 1st saber.
Definitely worth the extra $$

With the standard hero you get 1 LED with 4 dies, 2 dies are Color A and 2 dies are Color B.
All SF LEDs currently use 3W dies. There are 4 dies on the LED, hence the 12W.
So basically you get 2 6W colors via the dies, and if you have them both on at the same time, you now have a third color at 12 W.
I.E. Blue + Red = Purple.

If you get the infinite RGBA option as I did then you can alter the colors however you like.
You can dial up/down the intensity of each led die, there are 4 in total, R G B A.
The go from 0 (off) to 255 (full intensity) in increments of 10.
So if you set all 4 dies to 255 you have a 12w white blade.
If you dial all of them to 0 except for the blue die, leave that at 255, then your blade is a 3W blue color.

The other important advantage of the hero tier is the ability to change the sounds the saber makes.
There are 6 sound fonts that the saber can use, which can be altered. You can upload whatever WAV files you want.
In theory your ignite sound could be the chihuahua from the 90s Taco Bell commercials sayin yo quiero Taco Bell if you want :)
