Well, our wait is over. :(

With a heavy heart I had to cancel my Hero Exhalted this weekend after learning that my wife had been laid off last Friday. She had suffered a severe stroke and spent several months living at the hospital doing rehab to regain the use of her left side. After four months at the hospital she was allowed to come home and continue out-patient physio. While she can now walk again with a cane, she has permanently lost the use of her left arm. After returning to work two months ago, it quickly became obvious her company had no interest in doing anything to try and accommodate her new disability and let her go at this first opportunity.

So the responsible thing to do was cancel our saber since it's basically half a mortgage payment. Phillip was helpful with getting us a refund after a couple snags. We were a litle over 6 weeks into the wait and Saberforge had just made up the shipping label, too. It might have been here in time for the premier. At least we're not pawning our tickets to that. =P

Sorry to hear that, my best wishes for you future.

Sadly even in places where there are protections companies have been become quite adept a circumventing those protections and making the firings or lay offs looking all legal. I watched the Corp I worked for for 13 years do it on a regular basis. The ability to fire people for "performance" if very broad and vague and is often used.

And Amen on the Sith thing Faethien: I have seen far too much of the evil men do to each other in this world to think that evil (even fictional evil) is "cool."Like Voltaire I will defend to the death others right to think it is cool, but it is not for me---Jedi all the way, IMHO.

So my package tracking said arrived at USPS in Portland on Wednesday and it hasn't updated since then... So I might not get it tomorrow but I'm hoping for the best! Maybe it'll depart tonight and make it here by the morning!

Sadly the USPS tracking system is hit or miss. Very often the only notification you get are when an item label is printed, when it is in transit and when it arrives, sometimes you may even only get in transit and deliver messages. As opposed to UPS or Fed-Ex which tend update the tracking number at each "hub" the package passes through. There are exceptions for all three methods but that has been my experience by and large over the years. I get a ton of packages from all three each year but, this is my first time waiting on a package from SF--which I pray ships soon as my chances of seeing it before the premiere are dwindling fast. Though there is nothing we can do to change it there will be a collective, "Awwwww shucks :( " on or around the 16th -18th from those, who like me, are right on the cusp of the estimate time the premiere. Not the end of the world if I don't get it by then, but it would be nice *fingers crossed*.

From current estimates it looks mine won't be here until the beginning of the year. That's cool as I was kind of expecting that even though I secretly crossed my fingers it would be here before Christmas.

I've asked this question before but I don't know if I got a positive answer (and it's not on the FAQ).

So SF has one year warranties, but does that warranty start the day you physically receive the lightsaber or the day you purchase it?

Second, does the Justin's shop offer the same warranty?

Yes to the custom shop query... As for the first question I've always assumed that it's from the first day you receive it (seeing as ordering from SF can take 3+ months sometimes). That's a very good question though and I
've never seen an official line on it.
Wish List: Arbiter, Count, Insurgent, Regal, Legacy 2.0

I hate USPS. Frickin sends my saber from Oregon to Pennsylvania to send to me in Texas. So much for 2-day shipping. Hopefully it comes tomorrow.... It was supposed to be here yesterday!

Sorry to read this. I too have gone through a stroke. Back in Oct 2010. With years of therapy she will recover most of her movement. just a tip... My movement increased every now and then. Like, it would happen over night or within a month. It's a long road. Just keep her going never stop.

I thought ordering from etsy was faster, so why is it taking 3 months to get to me?
