I don't think you were hostile, I was genuinely confused as to why it would be a mistake to purchase one.
Obviously, if you have the money, there's no need to get one anyway, but it might make a great gift idea, if you were going to buy a saber for someone else but weren't sure what they wanted, exactly.
I don't think you should let one isolated incident affect your decision, either. I mean, we never did find out the resolution of this particular circumstance and I've never heard any other issues about gift certificate errors (tho they could be out there, and just haven't reached my eyes/ears...). No matter what size company, or any other situations, there's always going to be times were things do not go perfectly and according to plan. It has been my experience and my observation that SF has always gone above and beyond to rectify any mishaps that have occurred. But, that's just my two cents on it.
