Like the title says, I have a couple questions and was hoping someone on here could help me out. Is the stated blade length such as 37" or 32" the actual size of the blade, or is it the length of what the blade will be after inserted into a hilt? Do some hilts fit the blade deeper inside than others reducing the length of the blade, or is there a standard depth at which the blade will sit in all hilts and if so, how many inches does it take off the blade? For thin neck hilts, it looks like the blade will not seat as far down as a standard hilt. So if I had 37" blade in a thin neck, I would assume that it would end up being the longest bladed saber. If someone could answer these questions it would be most appreciated. For ASP, I'm making a thin neck and was wondering if I should go 32" because a 37" won't seat as far down as it would in a normal hilt and end up being too long compared to a normal hilt with a 37" blade. How far down does a blade seat in a thin neck? Thanks for any and all help.

It's the actual length of the blade without it being inserted in the hilt.

Yes some fit deeper in the hilt however it varies from one hilt to another.

Think neck saber blades do not go very deep but are fitted snugly in the emitter (+ the retention screw of course) and are safely attached and duel worthy.

That would depend on the specific hilt (etsy or main site) or emitter for ASP and where you are measuring from.

For example on the sorcerer hilt do you measure from the end of the claws or from the top of the emitter. Or on the vanguard or any other asymmetrical emitter do you measure from the long or short side?

Some sabers have windows that the blade slides into much further to cover like the venom or epoch.

What is the actual concern you have with the blade length?

I don't have my sabers yet so I can't say for sure but I would think that the difference can't be more than a inch (or maybe 3 inches a on an epoch can someone confirm?) from the closest point on the emitter.
