Worked a treat, thank you very much Orion.
Now all I need to do is save up the cash for a champion level (much as I'd love to I can't justify the extra for the hero) and decide what colour I want...so many for a dark side steampunk jedi to chose from...

Glad to be of service, even though you're a disciple of the dark side ;)

Fair enough I suppose. Kinda the opposite reason my ancestor Anakin went to the dark side but who cares as long as everyone's happy, right?

Yoda could reflect force lightning and Anakin could force choke and they were both Jedi

The thing to remember is the dark side is not inherently evil, it's is a persons actions whilst using the force ( in my opinion anyway & I have been know to be wrong lol) that determins the path they walk upon.
For example using force choke or lightning on an armed robber or someone threatening your life is not an evil act, where as using say mind trick on someone to say for example jump of a bridge would be extremely evil

Also not sure how canon this is but in the Fate of the Jedi series Luke explains that the ability to catch force lightning on a lightsaber is in part because the saber acts as an extension of the users Force :)
"Ah, and it makes you think I may have the taint of the dark side in me, doesn't it? Ooh. Is that what you are wondering, huh? Ooh..."

also on the force lightning issue, Plo Koon used it (electric judgement) to incapacitate someone who was holding a hostage. the jedi council wasn't overly happy but could tell that he did it with no anger. it is different from sith lightning i know that, different colour but relevant non the less :)

Well, i'm not gonna start writing an essay (again) to demonstrate my opinion! Instead, I will tell you guys to READ REVAN! Revan live by both the light side and the dark side, getting a knowledge of the force that only a few other characters in the entire saga (many that you probably don't know) have!

If you read about Luke, you will find that he tried to destroy the dark from the inside out, but was only turned to the dark side (briefly). That being said, I believe that the dark side in of itself is bad, but the light can't survive with the dark

For dueling purposes, I have to give it to my Fury. It is very ergonomically correct, and I'm simply in love with it. Now, it also all depends on which style you are more prone to use. I happen to like Juyo/Vapaad/Form VII and Ataru more than any other and I cannot stress enough how much I believe that the Fury was built for those more aggressive lightsaber forms. I'm getting an acolyte soon as well, and I think it'll be more or less the same thing. I predict it might actually be more suitable for Soresu though. Maybe even Shien/Djem So.

I will note that I haven't gone blade on blade yet - I just got it today! - but I ran through a few drills with my Consular and I think it's going to be a very comfortable design for dueling and kata.

What hilts have deep wells for the blade itself? Is there a hilt with double set screws? I'm a pretty big guy and I'm worried if a saber has a shallow well and one set screw it would easily crack in heated combat

My buddy showed me this hobby and I haven't got any of them yet I wish I could look in person to get a better idea what works for my hands

No double set screws, but blades on the Epoch, Venom, and Viper are set much deeper in the emitter due to the designs having windows.

However, SF's sabers and blades are extremely durable and the only times I've heard of their blades cracking was 1.) Due to a bad batch of blades and 2.) because the set screw was severely over-tightened.

Not so much the hilt they look extremely rugged and I know SF seems to stand by their product but I just don't wanna be going through blades, I was looking into te apprentice section but most of them look like they're missing flash and I'd rather buy one saber that I like the way it looks but versatile for dueling which is what my intended purpose of purchasing one of these sabers

The Epoch looks like a very sturdy platform but I like the looks of The Guardian or the Prodigal Son more
