I didn't receive a charger with my lightsaber and scanner forge have not go back to me. Looking on easy the charger they supply is 4.7V 3A, I have a 12V 1.5A charger with the same connection. Will that work or would it destroy my electronics?

The voltage of that power supply is much too large for charging the saber... if the PCB on the battery didn't stop power from flowing it would probably destroy it.

SF has been taking just over a week to reply to emails, so I would say wait it out for one more day and then follow up if you haven't gotten a response. They should be willing to send out a charger.

I thought it was current you had to worry about...?

Yes, but with a power supply the current is essentially a max draw. The voltage is constant. The battery is capable of dispersing 4.7V but there would be nothing else in the circuit to handle the remaining voltage, resulting in a short circuit and an instantaneous current spike that could damage the components.
