TOPIC: 12W+ Green Guardian with Shattered Weathering

So yesterday the Guardian I ordered from Jordan Moll arrived, it is the Guardian with a few modifications to it, mainly the shattered weathering, knurled knob and the weathering on the black sections of the saber.

A quick overview follows in this video, after which I'll disccus it in more detail and provide pictures


The first thing that hit me about the saber is how thin the hilt is. Now, I don't have any others to compare it to, but this thing was surprisingly thin to me. I have fairly small hands and was expecting to only just fit my hands around it, and instead I can more than do so.

I have also seen many reviews where people have commented on the hilt being heavier than they expected, and while this is not the case, once the blade was in I did find it a fair bit heavier than I thought it would be. The balance point with a 32" blade in for me is in the 2nd choke point down from the emitter. I'm sure with some time however I will be able to wield it holding it further down the hilt on the grip section.

In terms of the hilt itself, it is seriously beautiful. Absolutely solid workmanship, and as I say in the video, the modifcations to this make it even more impressive, with the weathering and cracking contributing to the look of a version of Qui-Gon's saber that looks like it has been through a lot, perhaps something that would have ocurred if Qui-Gon had survived his fight with Maul, or if Obi-Wan had carried on using it rather than making a new hilt. The knurled knob is a small yet very charcterful addition, bringing it that bit closer to the movie hilt it is based on, and makes for a very nice activation button. The blade plug is a very nice two-tone silver and black colour, and really fits the rest of the saber and its balancing of the silver shroud and black main body.

The Viridium soundboard is very loud, even on the low sound intensity setting, and even though it is not my favourite soundfont ever, it does very much suit the saber, pairing very nicely with the 12W+ Green LED, which is crazy bright, even being visible during the day, although in the dark is when it truly shines (pardon the pun)

I haven't had much time actually wielding the saber, although from the limited spins I have done with it, it handles very well, with very little to get in the wielders way, even with the added red knob, there are several ways to grip and use the saber, with no sharp edges or things to catch on, and can comfortably be used one or two handed (although again, I do have smaller hands than most, so bear this in mind)

I have to admit, and I am not saying this for effect, I think this is best looking Guardian I have ever seen. Man, that is nice. Congrats! I love the weathering on this one. It's just right without being overdone.

Thanks I absolutely agree, some sabers suit being crazily weathered with cracks all over them, but the changes to this one are subtle enough to not change the overall feel of the hilt too much, while still adding a touch of age and character to it. It was originally Shameems. It was a standard finish with the red button.
Then I bought it from him and had him do the weathering and shatter.
From there I traded it to Jordan for a Redeemer.
And now it's on to you lol

I thought I'd add a few new photos to display the illumination when its in the dark as opposed to partially in daylight. I'm sure its nothing new that hasn't been shown before, but I figured why not.
