TOPIC: Custom Phoenix 12W+ Indigo - aka Fulcrum

Merry Christmas to me! My custom Phoenix arrived yesterday!! Special thanks go out to Tom of Saberforge Customs for his work on this and greyjediDude / NeBosa for the inspiration. I absolutely love my Phoenix !!

I know you've seen this customization on a previous saber, but I wanted to share my version. Got rid of the powder coat and went for a polish / clear coat. Looks more real to me now. Shroud is now fixed, and Graflex pins added. Lastly Pommel was given 2-tone effect and I added a Razor bladeplug, with brass accents. Since I got my Ahsoka Razor plugs, I knew I needed something similar for this saber to add an extra effect of realism.

Tom also polished up my brass retention screws and the covertech knob, which really adds to the look. I sort of stumbled into doing 1 big screw and 1 small screw after my fingers were a little raw tightening the original small screw for the blade retention. The big one is much nice and I like the visual aesthetics it adds.

Nice. That blade plug kinda looks like a turbine fan from a jet engine.

Now plug in a Purple Day Blade and it looks amazing - blue purple.

Thanks everyone for your comments Extremely happy with this hilt. Made a small change with respect to he blade plug. Felt the brass plug was too much, so swapped with a silver one and prefer the look. I also went with a longer plug so that the "windows" aren't blocked.

Had to clean up and reassemble since mine was apart. And in my brain fart I was thinking of my Katano with the brass. But the upper shroud is practically identical. And the Phoenix has a different color combo





He also has a nice gold and black combo, as well as some new Vader plugs that are kind of neat. The turbine plugs are always gorgeous, but for a couple bucks some variety is nice when you get bored.

Been meaning to clean up my Phoenix forever now to match the Katano. Thanks for being my kick in the butt

Also here's a quick comparison of the Phoenix with the Ahsoka's in my collection.

The Phoenix will get the ears back on. It's stripped ATM for sanding and polishing. I slid it back on the body just to show it with a normalish look. The Katano was used on here as a SF customs.

He routinely restocks. Can always message him on Etsy to see if he has an ETA.

So much sanding to get all the snowflake off. X_X lol

Nice! I think I read somewhere there is a chemical you can use to remove the powder coat, but I wasn't able to get it in Canada. I can only imagine the amount of sanding. I had Customs secure the shroud when they were done as it was really uncomfortable to hold have the saber rattling around.

With the tombstones off the Phoenix sort of looks like a Shoto (from your pic, )although a bit bigger.

I'll keep that in mind while check out those plugs.
