Just ordered my first saber forge item. When the Templar came back in stock I had to have one. Some of you may recognize me from other forums in the saber community, but I'm officially joining up here.

Welcome Samhain138 and Congratulations with edging closer to your first SaberForge Saber and with quite a statement making one at that. Undoubtedly I'd presume you'll have some other Sabers in your ownership already so would be familiar with what surrounds it. I encourage you to observe the Forum Rules and (if wanting a refresh) check out the FAQs also. Did you Order your Templar from Main Site or Etsy for the quicker Lead Time? and what Options did you select? Why not Post your item that's on wait in Wait begins 4.0 and join in with the Topics of discussion. :)

Maybe I should have picked it up off of etsy. I didn't know if the discount was available there or not. I'd been looking to get this thing since last year but only the relic was available. I decided to make the purchase because of the discount and the extras from the sale for July 4th.

My current cross guard saber I use for my Kylo cosplay is nice and all, but it's just a stunt saber and I feel it's design isn't well thought out as a hilt. I do a lot of saber spinning and from what I can tell the Templar not only looks like a proper lightsaber, but handles much better too.

I ordered the weather champion tier saber with a black ray grip, red blade and the Crimson sound. Is it true all of the saber forge products come with the cover tech knobs already?

July 4th Promo initially began exclusive to Main Site only where soon after the Offer was available via Etsy also. Relic and Templar are available from Main Site however (IIRC) only Templar is/was via Etsy.

This ^^, I can only imagine. Forum Member Execute66 is known to have both (so far and for now) and you can check out his Reviews (either independently or with his recent Post, comparing the two side by side) here. I'll provide a link to the Forums FAQs also in case you'd like to refresh. It contains valuable information about inclusions with Purchase.

Thank you. Sounds to be a lethal and menacing setup to be expecting.

Yes, unless otherwise specified. ;)

Hello to everyone, I am SwordOfTheMorning and I have loved Star Wars since I saw The Phantom Menace when I was 8.

The Star Wars saga means so much to me due to it brings me sweet memories of my childhood.

I am from Spain and I love to make cosplay with my friends. I like also to collect action figures, mangas or anything which be related with Star Wars. I remenber when I was 11 during the summer, everyday I used to pass in front of a toy's shop which has a lot of figures about Star Wars... I used to stay in front of that store and spend some time looking at the figures... but of course I couldn't afford it so I only looked them fondly.

Now I grow up and I have managed to hold that child inside of my after these years. Now I am proud to say that I'm still having that thrill inside of me each time that I see a saber or any kind of stuff from Star Wars...

I think that it becomes me into a proud fan, don't I?

Nice to meet you all guys,

Now I believe I wasn't so alone as I thought I was

Hey guys I'm new to this forum I just received my prodigal son and I'm currently in the process of converting it into the V2 version. I've loved Starwars for as long as I can remember. Especially Return of the Jedi. I'm looking forward to meeting new people and the help I'll receive on the build!

Hey guys, JC here from Colorado.

I use to dabble with Kenjutsu as a kid and have always had an interest in swordsmanship. It's exciting to see Lightsaber combat transform into a real sport / martial arts. I guess that's what first led me here. A sparring group in my area would be cool (Northern Colorado / Denver), but I haven't found any so far. Maybe I need to start one, eh?

I'll most likely dual wield, as I am a bit familiar with a blade. I have my eyes set on the Oracle which is what my first purchase will be. As I get familiar with handling it, I'll CAD out my own and have it made somewhere that offers low-volume machining services. But, if you happen to have a CNC machine I'll be your best friend.

Greetings, Saber Forge!

I've been lurking off and on for a little while now, and figured I'd introduce myself & join in on some of the discussions.

Hello folks. I guess this is where I begin on the forums? I - like Roger Redux - am one of the "lurkers" who have been watching these forums for a while. I've mostly been watching for any news on the ASP. I've liked the idea of a saberforge saber ever since I heard about them, and am even more excited now that "custom" sabers will be easy to make through ASP! I missed the KS/IGG for ASP, and am now waiting for the official site to open up. (While slowly saving up money.)

Glad to have joined you all on the SF Forums!

Welcome Lumen_Cordis! Although the Official ASP site has not opened, yet, and the campaign has ended, you can now get ASP parts through IGG, check it out!

Welcome to the Forum David and Thank you for your Introduction. You are encouraged to observe the Forum Rules and Forum FAQs, helpful sources of information that will guide you with your time here and with that crucial decision: selecting the Best One. There really isn't a way to define which single one of the extensive range is the Best one, however with deciding which is the best one for you perhaps start by following the Reviews Section and going from there. I also offer my welcome, and in addition to Ovrc saying that a best one is hard to define, it also helps if we know what you want it for :) For example, if you are looking for a dueling saber, there are several that provide better grips than those with large protruding control boxes or many greeblies. If you are looking for something to go with a costume, then it depends on the look of the costume, and if you are looking for a display piece, it totally depends on personal preference.

Of course, they all depend on personal preference, but the purpose of the saber can often narrow down which would be good for you, as can your hand size, preferred grip or combat style and so many other factors.

Once you've settled here in the forum, and perhaps refine what you are looking for in your saber, please do feel free to ask for opinion. The final decision rests with you, of course, but it can sometimes be helpful to ask for a consensus on a certain aspect, such as is X hilt good for dueling, or what are the opinions on Y LED colour in X hilt.

Greetings all! My name is Josh, but Ishwa works too. I (like many before me) have been a long time lurker of the forums, and a pretty big Star Wars nerd. I'm an 80's child who grew up relatively poor, so a kick-ass lightsaber has always been rather far fetched. Just in the last couple of years I've started to do much better for myself, and when I discovered the ASP campaign (with literally 2 days left) it was pure kismet that I not only finally get the awesome, "real" lightsaber I've always wanted, but it's one of my own design. It's MY lightsaber.
Now, here we are. 6 months later and my saber is sitting in the post office on a Saturday. Fortunately, I've spent my life testing my own patience, so this should be easy.
I've been reading a lot on the forums, particularly the DIY section, and consider myself pretty handy electronically, so I decided I should probably introduce myself if I wanted start asking questions, making comments and generally just conversing. I'm a pretty good googler, so hopefully I wont do anything redundant, but I am also a firm believer in: "The only stupid question, is the one that doesn't get asked." So I'm sure I will have questions. Finally I would like to say thank you to all of the saberforge community for all the help you have unwittingly already provided me. :)

Welcome Ishwa and Thank you for (finally) your Introduction. It's only taken you 7Months (since Registering) to surface (officially) however better late than never.
but I am also a firm believer in: "The only stupid question, is the one that doesn't get asked."
Agreed. Looking forward to reading future Posts of yours. :)
