Hey guys, the name's Joe. I've always been a huge Star Wars fan. I watched the original movies and later on the sequels. I also played a lot of Star Wars games like Battlefront and Kotor. Admittedly I was always into sparring, My brother and I used to spar with the poor man's dueling saber (AKA the wifflebat.) I liked the toy lightsabers but they are really crude and useless after a couple hard battles. But I still liked sparring and eventually that led me to Saberforge. After looking at all of the offerings I decided that Saberforge was the overall best and so my training began.
A couple ppl have been posting about their first purchase so I'll do mine. I recently chose to buy a 12 W Weathered Disciple Champion tier with a green blade and the crimson sabercore. I like the design, it's simple yet cool. I like how it has the wrap for grip, but also the grooved part for spinning which is something I do in choreographed fights a lot. The grip is especially useful. I try to emulate Juyo when I duel and that involves a lot of flashy maneuvering, fast strikes, etc. It's a great workout. Essentially, I chose it because it looks like a great starting saber, though I plan on moving up to a Sinister Prophecy Hero Tier after some time with the disciple. The V4 is perfect for that nice mesh of cosplay and dueling.
Just ordered it yesterday too which means 12-14 weeks or so before I take my first step towards mastery. And now the wait begins.....
