I ordered my SF saber back in mid November and I am in the same boat, 9weeks have passed and still waiting. I am sure it will be worth it. I have also been watching videos constantly online. Thank DarthMario for posting a lot of new ones this week, really appreciated that. I ordered an exhalted and your original review of thin neck sabers swayed me away from a prodigal son to the exhalted. I am up for dueling and the control box could cause some issues. I happened to order my exhalted (hero) with a unique color scheme; basically asked Phil to black out the entire hilt only leaving the brass features ( neck, kill key, covertech) normal. Think it will have a strong dark side look to it. More so than than the weathered versions. Anyway hope all your guys sabers come soon, and hey since we all like those unboxing and review vids on youtube lets all make one when we get ours!! All the best May the FORGE be with you!!

It will be interesting to see how that saber turns out! I really like the exalted as well for its better grip. I always thought the control box looked a little silly.

I also ordered an Exhalted being a fan of thin neck sabers. This is my first order from SF and I am waiting at week 8 now. I hope one day SF can speed up their turn around time as its a bit turn off to wait for 2 to 3 months for a saber, while US can deliver in a week. I know we are not US fans here, but I have 4 stunt and one sound saber from US and they are working fine. Probably I have been spoilt with the fast delivery from them. I have a big group of friends and Star Wars fans in Malaysia who are waiting for my Exhalted to arrive and for me to do a review on it based on the whole buying, receiving and overall product review. And a lot of them are just itching to pull the trigger to for a group order from SF. But as I mentioned, the long waiting time is a turn off. I understand that SF need time and quality blah blah. But in reality SF are losing a lot of potential customers.

Anyway I still eagerly waiting for my SF order.

Did you order from SF website? I heard if you order off etsy those hilts are already made and arrive in 2-3 weeks. As mentioned I asked for my exhalted to be customized with a unique color scheme so expected a much longer wait. I have a US and my friend has the Gladius from SF. I think SF hilts are at such a higher quality , just my opinion. I am sure you will be very happy when your order arrives. Like any growing business supply and demand issues occur. Having one where demand is outweighing supply is not a bad problem to have ahah, but you are right needs to be addressed at some point. I could have easily ordered a few more sabers if the turn around was quicker, but patient we must be?

I ordered from the saberforge website during their black friday promo. I have no doubt that quality from SF is top notch and better than US. Thats why I wanted a SF saber so badly. And bare in mind that me and my friends are in Asia, delivery charges are more expensive and if there is something wrong with the saber, most definitely we will not sent it back for repair, be it from SF or US. So we have to risk it all and purchase with caution. Our group have already purchased over 50 sabers from US, only 1 have a broken speaker. We wanted to move on to SF due to quality concern, so I have been assigned "test water" from SF so to speak. Every month we group purchase between 4 to 10 sabers from US, to save on delivery cost. Only if SF can meet a faster turn around time, we would be doing the same with SF.

Pretty cool that there's a huge group of you. Do you guys have massive saber duels?

I'm in the UK but am originally from the USA. I know what you mean with the shipping costs. Phil who owns and runs SF seems very accommodating to his customers. I think in time they will catch up with the demand. One thing that puzzles me though is the number of new hilts coming out. I am all for new products and they look awesome but won't these new additions actually slow down production rates? I'm no expert but if turn around time on the 10-15 hilts they offer now is 8-10wks , what will it be the turn around time when they have 25+ hilts to decide from. It's only logical more time would be needed to address the new designs. Anyway I don't mind the wait if the product is quality. And that is the only thing I keep hearing about SF "Quality "

I have thought about this a bit. I don't really think that once the hilts are released that it will slow anything down. The only thing slowing anything down would be hilt design, and there's orobably only one guy doing that anyway. Once the hilts are ready for production, they'll be just like any other saber. The electronics haven't changed. They just need to machine the parts and then add all of the electronics.

We have saber groups and fan clubs here. We did a light saber flash mob at a public event last year. Our numbers are small but are growing every day.

The way I see it is once Phil has enough of the new hilt design to release to the market at once, then they can be released and added to the shipping wait time. Ordering off of Etsy helps with the wait, but I'm at 6 weeks now ordering off the website. Any way you look at it, I believe it's worth the wait, but the day it shows up is the day I scream like a little girl with excitement.
When in doubt, bisect your enemy.

I ordered my first saber about three weeks or so ago. I assume it will take the full 8-10 weeks, but that's ok. I would rather the job be done well than just have something slapped together for time. I have heard a lot of good things about saberforge and the quality of the workmanship put into their product, that's why I chose to purchase my first saber from them. Yeah, I am excited and can't wait to see my Monarch, but that's all part of the thrill of collecting and the joy of being a part of the Star Wars and sci fi experience.
p.s. I took advantage of that 15% off deal and purchased an infinity blade. Just got it in Yesterday.

Sounds awesome. That Monarch is gorgeous. I need to buy some new blades, too... I did just get a brass blade plug yesterday, though. And it's awesome.

I'm only 4 weeks into my new saber wait. It's always hard to wait for stuff...

Currently waiting on 6 sabers and it is killing me. 4 from the website, and 2 from the etsy store.

So how have I been dealing with the wait? Short answer - not well. Ive rewatched all 6 movies at least twice and have started watching The Clone Wars tv show.

I initially ordered 4 during the black friday sale for the family as my holiday gifts (just a bit late now! whoops!). I kept the colors original for the parents as they remember the release of the original trilogy (light blue sinister prophecy for mom & green epoch for dad) and went for 2 red blades for my twin brother and I (red seemed only fitting for us after what we put the 2 of them through while we were growing up!). The brother is getting the venom and I will be enjoying the venomous fury.

As the weeks went on and I kept getting antsier my girlfriend figured shed surprise me by ordering 2 more sabers! She was wanting one for herself, and knew I would love a second blade, so she went ahead and got us 2 off the etsy store (she couldnt wait and knew I wouldnt be able to either) so hopefully her dark blue Epoch and my red Consular will be here soon!
My current 6 sabers:

Warrior Consular
Warrior Venom
Warrior Epoch (x2)
Warrior Sinister
Champion Venemous Fury

I hated waiting for all of mine, especially my Jade Fire. I ordered off of Etsy and it took about 6 weeks due to Parcel Force (here in the UK) being uselessly slow!

I got by by playing The Force Unleashed on max difficulty until it royally angered me, then the wait for another Star Wars item was much better!

It's definitely my favourite hilt, the Jade. Such elegance, such a beautiful purple LED. It's definitely the centre piece of my collection, even if it is half the length of the Starkiller hilt I've got!
