TOPIC: Custom Katana Hilt... and it's Gorgeous

This is my first time ordering a custom saber and boy was it worth it! It arrived more quickly than I had expected and it was everything I had hoped it would be and more.

As a fan of both Star Wars and Japanese culture, I knew my first hilt had to be the Katana, but I wasn't too partial to the default coloring. So, I had my Katana painted with an all-black finish and had not only the covertech knob powder coated brass, but the emitter, tsuba and pommel as well to resemble a more traditional katana hilt.





The end result is, in my opinion, gorgeous. The two colors go together extremely well and the gold does a brilliant job in breaking up the black, preventing the hilt from looking too dark. The theme for this hilt was "honorable Sith" (cliched, but whatever) and to go along with that, I went with the Imperial Cog tsuba.



Keeping with the theme, the blade's color was not red, but blood orange, just a step below red, to show that the user's not all evil.





All in all, I am extremely pleased and satisfied with my purchase and thank the team for doing such an excellent job on it.

Beautiful, simply amazing. The katana is definitely on my list of must-have sabers. After the Archon I'm getting one. Love the backstory too.

It's Actual Lightsaber Goldbrand! Good call on this saber, Aktar, it looks great! Excellent blend of the two. Now I kind of want to see it with a flat blade.

While I'm not a big fan of gloss finishes, black+brass make for a combination that's near n dear to me - this is a nice looking hilt. This pretty much cements my next order as a weathered Katana hilt.

It's actually the second longest, the "Wakizashi" at 11.5 inches. I deliberately chose that because I felt that the full "Katana" was a tad too long for both a lightsaber and katana hilt. Not to mention, I really enjoy the fact that the spacings of the grooves on each segment is different, which is reminiscent of many other hilts that have different bottom halves.
