Hey, I think this sub-forum is the best place for this. Anyways, I've got this Sith Acolyte mask, and it's super awesome so far. Instead of adding complex filigree design to it, I want to make it look sort of like an ancient mask. So i wanna give it a weathered/rusted/old metal look to it.

Has anyone ever done a weathered paint job? What paints and techniques should I use?

Here are a few images so far. The finish as seen in the image is alright, but I want something more pronounced, as the mask only looks like that under light. Thanks for your suggestions griffon.

I love the mask so far, and I'm really glad how it turned out. It's solid as fuck by the way (fiberglass ftw). I just want it to look like authentic, ancient armor of sorts.

Fiberglass is on the inside of the mask, so I won't have to worry about that.

What about spray paints? I'd rather avoid painting the entire mask by hand if I could.

Outside of the mask is just polyester resin, and now a few layers of paint.
