B) Hey peeps, I just bought the Sinister Prophecy Hero. Apparently it doesn't come with quick connects and I was wondering how hard it is to replace the LED's when needed? While I haven't received it yet, it looks really cool from the picks. It's a real serious buy for me and I'm fairly new. So any advice or info would be appreciated.

Hello gups11!

Since you're new here, I'd direct you to the Welcome topic on the front page where you can learn more about sabers, LEDs, and the forum itself!

My guess is that because you ordered a Hero tier, and I may be wrong here, but it comes with RGBA capabilities meaning that it can change colors. Maybe someone who owns a Hero tier can help me out, but I think thats how it works.

Hi all,

You are correct, the HERO tier sabers do have the ability to change colours. However I need to point out there are TWO options for colour change.

First is the 6W/6W/12W which allows you to choose Two 6W colours which can be used individually, so if you have 6W Red and a 6W Blue you can have either colour but you can activate BOTH colours to mix into a THIRD colour which will be 12W.
When ordering this option you select Colour 1 then you need to choose Colour 2.

Second is the most flexible and is called RGBA, this gives you unlimited colour choices as the LED has four 3W colour emitters (called Dies) which can be controlled by programming how much light each Die emits. In this LED module the Dies are coloured, RED, BLUE, GREEN and AMBER. (If you a familiar with moving sliders to mix colours in Photoshop or similar software the idea is the same.)
When ordering this option both colour options need to be set to RGBA.

This would mean you don't need to change LEDs.

I hope this helps,

For Tyeth

When you say replace the LED's, are you enquiring in a scenario outside of warranty coverage and when the LED's no longer function? I don't know the life expectancy of the LED's but imagine them to be quite extensive under 'normal' usage with modifying it. If you are anticipating a distant-future troubleshoot, then protocol would be to email Sales Customer Service to discuss your options.

Because your query stemmed following a Quick Connects comment, to change colours (as a continuation from For Tyeth's Post) is quite simple, and as demonstrated by SFGrandmaster Phil below.
