TOPIC: Kill Key

Metal is difficult to work, but if my saber ever works I will probably print my own keys and offer them to others.

I see the point, this should have been announced to people who had ordered sabers and the pictures should have been updated. However, Brax is probably right that this was seen as an improvement, and likely wasn't considered to be a problem. To the company, the kill key is a low key form of advertising, and they probably assumed it would be an improvement to users as it is far smaller and takes up less space on the hilt. I personally prefer it, but I can understand why you wouldn't, or why you wouldn't like that it wasn't announced.

Either way, if anyone can possibly suggest changing over the pictures to whoever has control over that, it would be a good idea, but also, its really a far larger problem than this thread seems to make it. I get that people like to look at their sabers, but the logo other than the initials looks very Star Wars-y anyway, it looks pretty nice in my opinion. Still, as I said before, I'm sure you will be able to get an old style key from somewhere else quite easily.

With regards to the Redeemer changes, that is potentially a larger issue if the card isn't secure enough, but in terms of the actual hiding of the kill key I absolutely approve of it. Still, I don't own the sabers with this sort of kill key box, and I am grateful that you informed us of it, because I did want a Redeemer at some point.

That's a fair point actually, I forgot that the sales team will be the ones in control of... well, the way these sabers are sold.

Hey guys, for what it is worth, I realized that I at least assisted in the derailing of this topic and apologize for doing so. I don't know if I was thinking I was on a different thread or if I just let my ADHD get the best of me. Sorry about that.

It's all cool HotRod, no worries. The new kill key seems to be a pretty hot topic. Everyone has questions & opinions. I've liked reading what everyone thinks about it.

I'd just like to add my 2 cents I ordered an exhaulted because I liked the contrast of the bronze silver and black I wasn't informed I'd receive the new kill key it to me take away from the looks of the saber overall. Functionally it's the same that's cool when I'm messing around with it that doesn't matter but when it's on my shelf that lack of contrast bothers me and It sucks I wasn't even given a option.

I sent an email to Customer Service a couple weeks ago about the matter (I was polite and detailed in my questions, hope that helps things). Haven't heard back from them yet, but if and when I do, I'll share it here.

I do agree the new one is less asthetically pleasing, but they may not have considered that. As brax said, they probably didn't think about it, and saw it as an improvement and signature thing.

Hopefully, if most of us who have an issue with it can contact them politely, they will change it back to the preferences style.

Well, no guarantees of course. But, the chances are much higher than any other method.
