I'm looking to replace a couple of my blade retention screws with thumb screws. Any recommendations on where to get them? I did a search on google and the forums here to check before I asked but the only place I could find them was the custom saber shop and they wanted $56 for delivery lmao

I haven't personally ordered from TCSS, but from what I understand the shipping cost will actually change when you checkout, I guess they have it set up to a default high, for heavier/larger packages but if yours is smaller it won't actually cost that amount. But, like I said... no personal experience with that, just what I've seen. I know Darth Mario orders from them, he might be able to confirm or deny that. :)

I thought the delivery cost may have been because I'm in the UK xD I'll try again up to the checkout in a bit :)

UPDATE: Just checked, yep same delivery price at final checkout

I know what you mean.
They want $40 to ship 3 screws and a drill/tap to Canada.
That's a steep cost for $20 worth of products all of which can fit in an envelope.

Their reply to my email was this (copy and pasted directly from my email)…

"Due to size limitations we cannot offer all shipping options on the store.
Most cheaper methods have length limitations so there may be no cheaper option available than what is on the site.
If you place the order and add a note to ship it as cheap as possible we will refund the difference.
Some cheaper methods do not have any sort of tracking though so you will have to assume all risk that the package may never show up.
Please allow 24 hours for us to process the refund once the order is shipped."

I am also very interested in getting some thumb screws to replace my retention screws. Anybody know the size offhand. I know the threads are 8-32. Just want to make sure I pay for the right size. ;)

Sorry, I wasn't very clear. What I meant was that the price shown is not what is actually charged; when he processes the payments he reduces the shipping costs based upon what's actually ordered. Sorry for not clarifying this more... but! Once again, it's just what I've HEARD, I would wait for someone that has personal experience to confirm that.

Also, quick search on lowes.com:

thumbscrews!

I'm sure with a little paint, you could make them look however you wanted. :)

Been looking through theirs, they have several different lengths and styles... various prices. Some are pretty expensive, some as low as a few bucks. Worth a look, at the very least. :)

For those in the UK, I've found a couple of good black retention screws (8-32) on an ebay shop. Luckily 8-32 is the size screws needed on a tattoo gun apparently.

One was around 4 quid and free postage from the US to UK, the other was about 5 quid or so

If you want the ebay links for these, send me a PM, it wont let me put ebay links in the topic

These are both Black, there were some brass ones about but they were around 6 quid, plus another 8 or so in postage (I was after black anyway) silver ones were nowhere to be seen
