I'm really excited to see it but I'm still not sure where or when it will be. I have a big hang up about inconsiderate people on cell phones or shouting through the movie and we get that a lot here in the big nicer theaters so I typically skip out till a week or 2 later.

This is not a movie I want to wait on. So maybe I'll see it in one of our tiny rundown theaters that don't get many people then see it again in a week or 2 in the nice theatres.

No characters have really jumped out at me but Daisy Ridley's is starting to grow on me though. If she becomes a jedi than I'll be sold. (Even if she has that dumb Soccer ball droid following her around. I want to punt it so bad.) And I'm so happy that X-wings are back, best Starfighter ever.

I think we can kiss the fast paced lightsaber fights goodbye though. That last trailer had Finn hacking away at that trooper like he was swinging an axe.

I got advanced tickets for 7:30 on the 17th, and I could not be more excited.

I get that some might think this is some kind of Disney-ification of our beloved saga. But, I have been with this saga since the beginning, struggled a bit through the prequels, and wished for something more. Now that it has finally arrived, of course I am going to give it the benefit of the doubt, especially since, for the first time since 1983 we have a director other than George Lucas. That alone gives me hope that we might be in for something new, and unexpected. Of course, there will be recognizable elements, even 35 years hence, but that does not necessarily mean it will be predicable.

I feel like we will be in for something we have not felt in the SW universe in a long time.

I'm going with friends and the girlfriend on the release date in France, December 16th. 3D viewing (decision that I also regret) at 8.30 pm.

I'm putting off going straight away for a few reasons. The crowds, the hype, the mania. Just not my sort of thing.
Don't get me wrong, I really can't wait. I hit 40 next year so grew up with it all. Ep IV released when I was 1!
Still have my first saber, the inflatable torch thing from Kenner. And yes, it still has it's box...barely.

I booked a week's holiday in Valletta, Malta in January. Just me and my sweetheart. Turns out there's the embassy cinema a short walk down the road so hey! That's worked out perfectly. And Malta being predominantly English speaking country means we shouldn't have to worry about subtitles.

Might even have my Descent by then..(15 weeks in. Losing.. will.. to go.. onnn)..

I'm pumped for the new movie I'm gonna be seeing it the 20th with my dad and best friend. Until then I'll probably just be on the forum and get a marathon of the movies in there somewhere

Been pretty damn excited about this too and thus far avoided all spoilers save the preview trailer and the first two official trailers. I am only human!

As to passing time...working my way through jk2 jedi outcast ,prepping house for winter, Skyrim, d&d, house maintenance, and watching original dr.who episodes is helping fill in gaps.

Gotta kep this experience as fresh as possible!
