When I look at picking a Watt type I see 6 and 12, but not 12+. Where is that option?

What exactly is the difference between 12W and 12W+?

Welcome, Allow me to direct you over to the Faq. That will give you a more comprehensive explanation. To put it shortly, 12w+ blade LEDs are more tightly packed meaning an evenly lit blade and a brighter tip. 12w have a greater emitter flare but a dimmer tip. Both are still very bright.

Hope you enjoy the forum

Thanks a lot!

I do have two more questions though- what's the difference between buying an ASP model with all the Prodigal Son parts and buying a ln elite Prodigal Son?

Also, you referenced Nightlites in the FAQ- I would like to eventually put my sabers on a wall for display that I can plug into a power strip plugged into an outlet controlled by a light switch.

Will a champion class saber with the built in hilt plug allow it to be on while plugged in- or is that not how it works?

Nope. 100% impossible due to the nature of the wiring.

.... Didn't you already ask this? Is there further clarification you'd like? Not being snarky, sometimes it's hard to tell without verbal inflection.

I remember you answering this, I was looking for an "official FAQ" type response since that was what was brought up.

I felt like the answer you have was more of a "it will be the same but different" so yes, more clarification. No offense, I was asking for another's opinion.

Lastly about the display issue, do people that display them on their walls just turn them one by one every time they want to display them then?

The tricky thing is that no one really knows. Until we get the ASP parts in hand it's impossible to know what the differences will be. Some hilts, like the Epoch, had some huge design tweaks in order to break the hilt up into a pommel, body, switch, and emitter section. With the PS the straightbuild consists of several distinct body portions that are incompatible with the 4 ASP part standard. The ASP build will simplify the design by integrating the grenade portion into the the "emitter" section and will parse out the remaning bits into their respective "pommel" "body" and "switch" sections. This will alter the exact dimensions of the PS build as the ASP components require a certain conformity in dimensions so that all the ASP components can work with each other.

TL:DR No one knows until there's a side by side review by someone who owns both.

Okay that makes a lot of sense. Thanks for clarifying. I wasn't thinking of the ASP parts having to match up with all other parts.

That makes me think that getting an entire saber instead of ASP for cannon sabers is the best way to go.

It seems like ASP is much more for making your own mix and match custom saber. Which is cool- just not what I'm looking for.

If they end up making a in-hilt charger for the ASP though that would be really cool.

I found the photo showing the difference from their KS campaign. Regular 12w on the left, 12w+ on the right.

I think everyone here agrees that if you can possibly swing it, the 12w+ upgrade is definitely worth it.
Imagine what you will know tomorrow....
