So I had my ASP saber working with my Spark 2 install for a couple of days, and suddenly it won't work. It's a 12w+ Green LED, 3.7v battery, Spark 2, recharge port, 28mm speaker and one main switch.

The saber boots, and activates no problem. It will stay on as long as I don't move it. The problem seems to be that every time the board detects motion or a clash, it shuts off. I've been over the whole thing a few times, isolating everything I possibly can, looking for a possible short. I've come to the conclusion that the board must be damaged, but I can't find anything about this kind of issue anywhere. It sounds to me like I have a damaged motion sensor, but can anyone shed light on this for me? Thanks!

Just a thought here.....Does it actually power down, or does it freeze up. In other words, if you have an LED in your AV switch, does the AV switch LED go off as well, or does the saber just stop making noise?

I had a problem where I had a sound file (a swing sound) named incorrectly (or it also wasn't converted using Naigon's software) and when the board tried to play it, it would go quiet and nothing else would happen. I would insert my kill key and have to reset. Fixing the font solved my issue. Just a thought.

No it shuts off completely after I ignite the saber. I think, though, that the battery may have simply been undercharged or something. I'm not sure if that could cause this problem, but I'm giving it a shot. Even after I just re-soldering the whole thing up a bit cleaner :p

Hmm, that's interesting. Please let us know what you find. I'd love to know if a bad or undercharged battery could cause that. :-)

Yeah I got my charger in the mail right after I tried resoldering everything, and guess what? I plugged it in over night, came back, and the damn thing works perfectly fine. The oldest mistake in the book: charge the battery, stupid! That's right up there with: "Have you tried unplugging it for ten seconds, plugging back in and turning it on?" :p Thanks for the help, though, guys!
