Noted! I figured it would not have that high gloss finish. Probably the standard brushed aluminum, and weathered finishes, which it would look fantastic either way. One design element I wondered about was the pommel. The notches that match with the bottom of the hilt could be difficult, because if the threading were not exact on each one, they would not align correctly. The other that gave me pause was the emitter. It is very nice as pictured, but the metal gets thin towards the end where it would make contact with the blade. I could see it bending under stress when dueling, which would not be good. In actuality, it is very similar to the emitter(s) on the Relic, so if that design is finalized, then perhaps it was not a problem after all. In any case, I look very much forward to seeing the final render, and even more so to see it arrive for ordering. I am hopeful that if any changes are necessary, they are minor, and don't take away from the elements that drew me to this design. |

The Bane still intrigues me. At one point, it was going to be my next saber, but then as I started to think about it, the saber presented a profile more suited to a one-handed grip, which I did not want to be restricted to. I like the choice to put two hands down for the extra power if needed.
However, it also occurred to me that if I am right about the one-handed nature of the saber, that it would be ideal for a dual wield! A pair of those things would be something to behold, and not something I would want to be up against! |

I'd like to hope that the Bane will work well as both a single and double handed saber. I've heard that Daniel Lane the resident SF dueling master has tested out the Bane and likes how it handles.

I think that's the idea, customers will be able to choose a pommel, lower body, upper body, and emitter and build their own saber. We'll post updates as we get them. |
