FAQ has been updated with a couple new sections (Details on the new custom shop, the suggested nightlite update, and some important to remember notes on wait times.) Thanks everyone for the kind feedback, and keep new ideas and suggestions coming. This grows based on your feedback! :)

I ordered my first Champion Tier 3 sabers a few days ago. I have been doing a lot of reading here about stuff in general, so that I can learn about these wonderful sabers. I have maybe some stupid questions about the in-hilt recharge,

(1) Is it as simple as plug the charger into the built-in / in-hilt port to recharge the battery?

(2) Can we also switch on the saber when it is charging? For example, I might want to leave the saber on permanently as a light source for the room AND have it charging at the same time.

I don't want to mess around with removing the battery and I am too lazy to do that. That's why I want to be clear on how to charge Champion Tier 3 with in-hilt recharge. Is it just as easy like charging say an iPhone? :P

1 - Yep, it's that easy.

2 - nope. the charger also acts as a killswitch for the board, so it can't be turned on. This option is only available on warrior tiers, in the "nightlite" option.

Thank you sir!

On a separate topic (after reading your excellent summary on page one), I have just sent Etsy-Saberforge a question on whether it is still possible for me to upgrade from 12W LED to 12W+. Maybe my sabers already have 12W+, I just don't know and certainly did not know about 12W+ until today. I wonder how much brighter 12W+ is compared with the already super bright 12W.

I have contacted Etsy-Saberforge about this. Saberforge very promptly replied that the new 12W+ LED , while not officially released, is available and gave me instructions exactly as per the summary on page one of this thread. The new 12W+ is "...much more focused LED which produces a brighter beam of light down the blade, resulting in far more even illumination, clear through the tip. It's also more energy efficient ... ".

I have upgraded to 12W+ , now I am REALLY excited!

Thanks! I am impressed with Saberforge's customer service so far. It's been great. There is so much passion in the sabers they craft and the service they provide.

2 weeks ago I made my first purchase. I knew nothing about the process and the issues that others were having. 23 emails later and another saber purchase I have to say that I'm totally satisfied. All my emails were answered in a timely fashion, many of my concerns were clarified either thru correspondence or just searching the Forum! Thanks to everyone who has and will be involved with my 1st SaberForge experience.

I realize this is probably a stupid question, but do you get an email when the order is finished and actually shipped?

As much as I may like the USPS webpage, I don't really feel like refreshing it every few minutes.

Updated with some updates to time frames, notes on production times, and most importantly:
Q - What is the "nightlite" option I've heard of?

A - This can be tricky; there are two things which are almost the same thing, and most commonly, they are both referred to as the "nightlite" option. It is important when placing your order to know the difference and make sure you are requesting the right one for what you want.

Nightlite - The actual term Nightlite refers to an in-hilt recharge port that is not wired like a typical recharge port. In this situation, the battery does not charge when it's plugged in... the LED turns on while it is plugged in. This is ideal for wall-hanging or decoration, where you can have the saber plugged in and turned on for display.

In-hilt recharge - Adding the in-hilt recharge (normally only available on Champion and Hero tiers) to a warrior.

Both of these have the same cost, but the term "nightlite" is commonly referred to for both, and it's a rather important distinction.

Something that isn't quite clear (at last to me) is about shipping options. I ordered via Etsy and they have only one shipping cost when I proceed with order payment. I assume SF uses USPS (judging from video reviews of saber unboxing, showing the familiar triangle box packages with the USPS logo).

My question is, is this the fastest shipping option that one can choose from? It seems the standard shipping is an economy class shipping, which takes several days longer for international customers. It would be nice if we can opt for fastest "priority" shipping, obviously at an extra cost. Thanks.

Thanks . But I think the USPS "Priority" service takes 6 to 10 business days though. Other services' "Priority" service takes 3 to 5 business days and comes with extra charge. I was wondering if the USPS Priority is in fact the fastest priority service.

Domestic is like 2-3 day priority mail, website says international is 5-6 day (and then however long at customs).

We ship exclusively with USPS. Priority mail in the domestic US is 2-3 day shipping at the most affordable rates on the market. You should see some of the quotes for a 2 day delivery from FedEx for the toblerones... it's unreal. International shipping is the same, and it's 6-10 days. Of course sometimes customs (not the shipper) slows that down. There's nothing that can be done about that without paying the customs fees upfront (which is what express shippers like FedEx and US do, they pay customs fees then bill the shipper for them. Usually because these fees are ballparked and FedEx etc don't care, they declare packages at full value which results in much much higher costs in the long run. Ie: base shipping rate 75 dollars instead of 50, then add on fees (based on the price of the saber iself) up to $200. We try to remain cost effective.

I am sorry if I am in the wrong spot to be asking (new here) if it is please point me in the right direction, but I was wondering if the purple blade color was more towards the dark purple, the exact mix between red and blue, or kind of ventured more towards the pink color, cause I love the perfect mix and dark purple but can't stand the purple-pink color and would rather a blue... Please help!
