Hey guys, I´d like to introduce myself. My name is Roman , i am 35 years old and from Germany. I have always been a Star Wars addict and wish those sabers would have existed back in the days when i was a kid! I am a father of 6 and 3 year old boys and they started sharing my passion about Star Wars. They already have lightsabers ( the toy versions sold at disney ) and while wielding one of the I could not resist anymore
 I had to get a saber !!!  I viewed nearly every youtube review of saberbuyers and finally ordered my weathered Epoch Hero Tier ( blue / green ) on November,26 th. Since that day i logged in every day to look at my order status .Can´t hardly wait to wield that thing ! |

Hello saber forge forum members.
I'm James 29 from south of Boston, MA, Iraq and Afghanistan vet with Army/Mass National Guard and student at national aviation academy. had all the Star Wars toys and lightsabers when I was younger(still have them now) and now that I'm older and have the money for all the real fun stuff so the other day I impulsively first bought a red 12W disciple, and then the next day I emailed the company to cancel the order and went on etsy and went all out and ordered a 12W red weathered venom champion with dark side Crimson soundboard. Naturally being a satanist I decided to go down the path of a sith and can't wait for my saber all though I am very patient. Probly gonna impulsively buy a right priced second hand SF saber if the right one catches my eye and crosses my path. |

Hey, guys...I am Darth Justicar.
I am working on acquiring everything for my first serious cosplay, which will be Kylo Ren. I think I have the costume thing nailed down, but now have to consider a saber. I am really hoping to score a crossguard saber although I'm not sure how the price/deadline etc. will work. That said my costume is intended to last so even if I can't make a March 10 deadline for the con coming up soonest, I may end up with a saber for many years to come. Fun fact: I may end up being the world's shortest Kylo Ren. I am 5'5". Oh well, not letting that stop me. |

Thanks, just bought a nice little hilt to hold me over from the custom Lightsaber group and just need to order a blade and charger for it. 12+ red arbiter with in hilt recharge and custom kill key. Gonna go with a 32" blade. Just trying to figure out if it's quicker to get it from main site or etsy at this point.

I was pretty self-conscious about it at first,mespecially when I looked up Adam Driver's height and saw just how severely outclassed I was in stature, but I intend to make up the difference in attitude. Having observed Ren's mannerisms I think there are a few things I can play on to hopefully remind people of the character. I also decided to go the full nine yards and have my costume custom tailored (even though that puts a big pinch on the budget that I would potentially have for a saber) so that people's first impression will be of my robes fitting me just right and not looking like I'm some kid trying to wear Dad's clothes.

Granted, Adam Driver is pretty tall, it was not his height that defined his performance. If you can capture the essence of the character with a great costume, and a convincing saber, then you are doing it right.

Well Darth Justicar, there is a dedicated section for folk to talk about Cosplay and RPG gaming, you might want to start a thread there about your plans. Acting the part is a major component to being believable and the fact you have already picked out his mannerisms is a good start!
