Privacy and cookies

Saber Forge Forum is an independent website with guides about lightsabers. This page explains what data is collected when you use the site, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Server logs. Our hosting provider (Netlify) and our network provider (Cloudflare) process technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the site and keep it secure. We do not use these logs to build profiles.
- Contact form. If you write to us through the contact form, we receive your name, email address and message through Netlify Forms. We use them only to reply and delete them when the conversation is over.
- Your cookie choice. Your answer to the cookie banner is stored in your own browser (local storage), so we do not ask again on every page.
We do not run our own analytics and we do not sell personal data.
Advertising and Google cookies
The site shows ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads, to limit how often you see them and to measure them. With your consent the ads can be personalised based on your visits to this and other websites; without it, Google shows non-personalised ads and uses cookies only where the law allows (for example, to prevent fraud).
We use Google Consent Mode: until you choose, advertising storage stays switched off. You can change your choice at any time with , also linked in the footer.
How Google uses data from sites that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can manage personalised ads from Google at adssettings.google.com, and from many other vendors at aboutads.info.
Links to shops
Some guides link to shops. When a link is an affiliate link, the page says so. The shop's own privacy policy applies once you are on its site.
The old forum archive
Pages under /forum are a read-only copy of a forum that closed in 2018. There are no accounts and no posting, and we collect nothing there beyond the server logs above.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK), you can ask to see, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, object to its use, or complain to your data protection authority. To make a request, use the contact form.
Changes
We update this page when the way the site handles data changes. The date at the top shows the last change.
