Per The Toyark on 25 April 2026, Hasbro announced the Star Wars: The Black Series Force FX Elite Maul lightsaber at CCXP Mexico, with an approximate retail price of $269.99 and availability in fall 2026 [1]. Yakface Forums reported pre-orders live on 30 April [3]. Stock Checker, citing a Zavvi listing priced at 269.99 pounds, gives 16 September 2026 as the release date [2]. That exact date comes from one retailer listing, not from Hasbro, so treat it as unconfirmed.
Reported specs
The sources describe a replica of the weapon from the Maul: Shadow Lord series on Disney+, with LED lighting, sound effects and a display stand. An adapter piece joins two sabers horizontally for a double-bladed setup, but a second saber is sold separately. It takes three AA alkaline batteries, not included, and is rated for ages 14 and up [1][2].
Why it matters to a buyer
This is a screen-replica collector saber, a different product from the customizable sabers covered in our best lightsaber guide. Force FX Elite sabers are built to match a character’s prop, with the sound and light effects Hasbro designs for that model. You do not get the interchangeable soundboard or blade options of a hobbyist build, which we explain in lightsaber soundboards.
The double-bladed adapter is the part with the most appeal to owners who also like staff-style sabers. Our double-bladed lightsaber guide covers the screen history of that design. Note that you need to buy two sabers to use the adapter, which roughly doubles the cost to about $540 at the announced price.
Hasbro’s Force FX Elite sabers are replicas intended for display and light roleplay, so check the vendor’s age and usage guidance before using one for contact play. See dueling sabers for options built for that.
What to do
Check stock and the real ship date on Hasbro Pulse or your retailer before relying on 16 September. Prices vary by region, with the UK listing in pounds, and no US price has been checked by us on a vendor page, so the $269.99 figure is as Hasbro stated it in April (unverified for November 2026).
