I own a Warrior tier Katana saber with a standard red LED. aka : Orangy-Red (No Quick Connector on the LED unit)

Recently I learned of the Deep Red option... I MUST HAVE DEEP RED, IT'S BEAUTIFUL!

From what I can tell the conversion should be as simple as...
1: Buy a deep red LED with quick connect.
2: Buy a set of "Deans micro plugs" from ebay
3: Cut off my standard red LED
4: Solder one side of the Deans micro plug on the wires coming from the hilt.
5: Connect!

I'm not an experienced electrical hobbyist, have soldered in the past a couple of times, so I have a couple of questions for this:

1: Am I missing anything here, seems simple enough, right?
2: Which LED should I buy?
There are two LEDs for sale on SF - Which one should I be buying?
(leaning toward the ASP, but no idea tbh)
ASP LED OR LED w Optional Quick Connect

They do differ in appearance, perhaps one is bigger than the other or lacks a heat sink?:

Any help is greatly appreciated, and yes I'm aware of the warranty void situation.

If you purchased a built saber, you may not be able to remove the LED easily. From breaking the emitter free to not having enough wire length to remove the LED to cut it. Give us more info.

@wamphyri13
I don't have the saber yet, it's still in production, has been since mid november :/ (So sorry no further details as yet).
I did email and ask if I can get the colour switched out before it leaves the factory but was told it was too late.

Anyway,
When you say "Breaking the emitter free" are you saying the emitters are not simply held in place with a retention screw?

I would have thought it should just be a matter of loosening it and working it out carefully.

As for the length of the wires being too short, that is definitely a concern.

My champion tanto Katana has enough wire slack to pull out and swap the LED, but I can't guarantee it's the same for all variants.

Here's the wiring for quick connects to make sure your hilt is compatible with other SF LED modules.
