An equally important note is that we have been spending excessive amounts of time speaking with the USPS and been told so many times "sorry we don't have it" when we know, beyond any doubt, that these orders have been shipped. In the past few weeks our logging has come a long way and we know when orders are leaving, and they're not being scanned. Because of this we are currently launching a police investigation in to the local office and have been reporting a bunch of orders stolen. Those affected recieve refunds with rush replacement options. It's not ideal, but we are working on it and taking steps.

Thanks very much for the update. That is certainly disappointing both for the customers as well as Saberforge but I can't say I'm surprised. The USPS has gone way downhill and this seems to be one of their biggest problems...especially out on the West Coast. Will those affected be contacted directly? I'm unable to tell whether my saber is just delayed or whether it's one of the ones that should have shipped and is lost somewhere in the Twilight Zone.

Thank you very much for this update. My first saber ever I think is one of these sabers (label created in November, marked shipped on etsy Dec 2nd).

Just hearing this update has helped renew my patience with Saberforge, and I hope you guys get it figured out. I'll contact you folks after the holidays and with luck everything will resolve itself.

So is USPS (allegedly) taking the sabers for themselves and saying 'yeah we don't have it'? Man that's pretty bold...

I will say FedEx isn't near as bad as USPS. USPS are terrible with the tracking in my area.

It is regrettable that USPS has fallen short, just when SaberForge needed them the most. Hard to know if that is an indicator of the organization as a whole, or just the local office. I guess either way, it is a symptom of a larger problem which has them losing billions of dollars a year, and had they not been supplemented by the government, would have gone out of business years ago. I am sure there is still a need for them in the future, but without a huge overhaul, it will difficult for them to remain viable for too much longer. For the folks whose orders were affected by this situation, I sincerely feel for you.

To their credit, it sounds like SaberForge is going to whatever length is necessary to get to the bottom of this, and make changes to their shipping process to eliminate it in the future. I have faith that they will turn this situation into an opportunity to shine in the midst of adversity, and achieve some satisfaction for their customers in the process.

Well, my Vengeance appears to have shipped today. It's now showing in a status of 'In-Transit/Delayed'. Based on that I'll assume it's not one of the lost sabers and hopefully everything proceeds smoothly from here. I'm sure it'll take a while to get here with the huge backlogs for the holiday season but any progress is good!

OHH when did you order!? I'm waiting for mine as well. Been in preshipment since Dec 1.

Thanks for the info Knytiri! I imagine my Exile may be mixed up in that bunch... ordered back on Sep 25. There has been a shipment change on November 5th, 8th and the 22nd but nothing since. If so, someone has themselves a sweet saber for Christmas :(

Oh well, I just hope everything gets sorted out. Sucks for everyone involved and I can't imagine how frustrating it must be for SF, especially if they have to duplicate orders...

I don't have any stake in the post office, but this is technically incorrect. USPS turns a profit in their operations and have been doing so for a while now. There's an issue with them being made to pre-fund retirement benefits that causes all the budgetary discussion.

Anyway.

Got a message that my Etsy order from 4 October 'probably shipped' and to give it a couple more weeks. Really hoping that SF gets a better internal tracking system running, it's essential to a good business to be organized about their product. Still digging my sabers that I already got.
